The screen seemed absolutely brilliant to me!! bright with great contrast! don't think i noticed any real degradation when viewing from different angles....although cant say I tried viewing from a very far off angle!
That's great to hear, because I can't say anything good about the models shown at IFA, you all saw these before. I absolutely loved the Z Ultra's display in Berlin and if the Z1's screen when launched is anything alike it's all good.

another US retailer has listed Z1 LTE for sale. Not sure if it's gray market or official (though at this price it better be official) but something to look into:
$839 USD

C6906 LTE nowhere to be found!! Not a good sign.
Since all the LTE Z1`s support LTE band 4 (needed for T-Mobile LTE) it would be lame if C6906 becomes T-Mobile exclusive since it is the only model that will work on AT&T LTE network.

indeed, not a good sign at all. but all i really care about is whether it supports AT&T LTE or not. If it does, then it's mine. AFAIK, AT&T LTE is 700(band 4) and 1700 (band 17). Someone correct me if i'm wrong. All the LTE models support band 4, which i think is also european (and i believe t-mobile)? but only the '906 model has both 4 and 17. I guess I need to make sure i get the 906 model!
even if it does become tmobile exclusive, we can always import it. tmobile's new pricing plan doesn't exactly subsidize phones anyway so you'd be paying full retail price regardless. i'll just get it from negri or import it from clove.

that's the C6903 from the link you posted, it's got the 4 band but missing the 17 band to be able to work with AT&T LTE...only the C6906 is compatible for that matter...I'm still curious as why the C6903 and C6943 have the exact same bands, tried to look around but can't find any answers to it other than being a typo of some sort for the C6343 I guess...
We'll if I get some answer by digging some more
edit: if it becomes exclusive to T-mobile you won't find it unlocked anywhere just like you can't find and unlocked Z C6606

i just checked.. clove doesn't sell the c6906 either.. neither does negri! this is riduclous. does NO ONE sell c6906?
@funkadopest - is c6943 the japanese model? if so, maybe that's why. there might be a feature difference, not a radio frequency difference.
my mistake. Handtec sells C6903 but lists the 17 band in the LTE.. not cool!

white papers are identical from what I read so I can't tell
edit: @moogo, they list it like this LTE (Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)**** the asterisks meant not available for all regions...would love to see a phone with all those bands though

To American fellows out there, what kind of speed can you expect from AT&T LTE?
According to their coverage map, I will only get 5Mbit with 4G coverage where I live and that's the kind of speed I would consider as shitty with just 3G+ in Sweden.

@McKinley - i have been on AT&T for almost 14 years now but i have yet to have a phone that supports the LTE. Z1 would be the first if I can get my hands on the right model. I may just switch to tmobile since AT&T is being such a dumbass about things. from what i've heard, tmobile coverage in my area isn't the best, but it's decent. that's the only thing holding me back from switching as i've always had great signal with AT&T. a phone you can't use is nothing more than an expensive paperweight.

I get between 30-50 Mbps on download and 15-30 Mbps on upload. Apps download instantly and websites load very fast as well.
