Its the same with the K700's shutter slot. Since SE decided to remove the shutter, the large hole at the top rear of the phone still exists, but will it be filled in before the final release ? i hope so !

I read somewhere that the hole at the back of the k700 also serves as the hole for the loud speaker. so it may not go away.

That hole on the backside of the k700 used to be for the loudspeaker.. but since it produced some problems I dont remember which ones. they just left it there... maybe they're going to fill it in the final products..

the lens cover switch caused problems which is why there is no lens cover.

The official word from SE was that the lens cover switch that was in that gap had a bad effect on the loudspeaker, which comes from the earpiece.

I do hope they fill it in, or the phone will be full of dust before you know it !

I've just noticed something if you look at the picture where the memstick is you can just work out that it is a magic gate stick, this could be a special type of new stick that may just be a 1GB stick

Just a thought

Edit if you can't read it look at the copy above in the previous post

looks like a standard 128mb duo to me so I'm not sure where you draw your conclusions from?

anyway, the white paper does specifically say several times "memory stick duo" and in the connectivity section it also says "The S700 supports Memory Stick Duo, a miniature version of the Memory Stick series which is just one third the volume of standard Memory Sticks and has up to 128MB memory"

of course, this could be changed in the months before release but I personally think, as with the P800/P900, people will be dissapointed if they assume it will accept something up to 1GB capacity
