I've just published the first new map pack on Handango. For the first two weeks I will be charging $1.00 for it, after that it will be free of charge.
The charge is just so that Handango list the map pack at the top of the new products which will draw attention to the game and boost its sales a bit.
That map pack contains Western, Countryside, WinterWonderland and Trash maps. All the maps are brand new but I have reused the graphics from the old maps.
Only the UIQ version is published so far. I will probably wait until after my holiday to publish the PocketPC version.

I gladly paid and downloaded the new map pack. I am installing it now. Can't wait to see the trash map finally.

don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, but there seems to be an issue with the info screen on my 1.50 installation. First off it says that it is 1.32, but I am sure it is 1.50 and it has the new map pack working. The other problem is that the top two fields don't display any values on the right, and if you click them it shows strange characters briefly.
It is a seldom used screen, but I did check my version when installing the map pack and wound up re-installing the same version I already had because it displayed wrong.

I keep meaning to remove that screen. I just havent got round to it yet!
Im still in France, currently in an internet cafe. Quite relieved no problems have cropped up whilst I've been away (probably tempting fate there).

other than that one little problem everything is working wonderfully.
I love the trash map so much that I haven't really looked at any of the other maps in the map pack.

It is worth trying some of the new old maps. The layout of the maps is new, I have only reused the graphics.
When I get back I will add some more variations to Trash and the other maps.
Cheers,
Tom

Floss,
I haven't upgraded for quite a while, but I've just gone to the latest version. I'm finding the laser guidance and altered physics tricky to get used to, but the bigger maps are a great improvement, and I'm sure I'll get used to the rest.
There are still a couple of bugs that I've found that haven't been fixed. I hadn't reported them until now, because I wasn't sure if they were fixed before, but as they aren't I thought I'd let you know about them.
Sometimes, the map won't scroll when I am trying to look around, or aim a weapon. It tries to, but it's like it is 'stuck', and keeps popping back to focus on the selected ant. I can't see any particular pattern to this, but it does seem to do it most often on the first move of a game.
Secondly, sometimes one side gets two goes in a row. I understand that you can lose a go if you step on a mine, but sometimes (usually after the use of a cluster bomb), the same side gets another go straight away. This doesn't happen anywhere near as often as the first problem.
It's a great game, and these little problems don't stop me from playing it all the time. I even have my son pestering me to give him the phone so he can play it too - this from someone who has a PC, Playstation and Gameboy at his disposal. High praise indeed!
