Anyone know how to get rid of the panels completely? Uninstall is enough?
The panels sucks compared to running Xperia with "spb mobile shell" and "spb pocket plus". And the X-panel button could be mapped for better use..
It's a remarkable difference in response time when not running panels.
Gotta love the phone and all it features, but the panels are poorly implemented and doing more harm than use for users and SE.
Are you using 'spb pocket plus' for the scrolling capabilities?
Not very familiar with spb so wondered why you would use both...
Personally, from the video's and screen shots i've seen, spb does seem like the best 'everyday' way to use it...

No. Not using it for smart/smooth scrolling.
I use it mainly for the Today screen configurations.
The bonuses for the file explorer are cool.
The "close button" that actually kills the apps instead of running them in the background is a nice bonus too.
I got two mainscreens now. The "Today screen" and "Now screen" configured as I want.

My girlfriend got my P1 now.. where can I find the torch-app? Did a google-search but got to many hits.

Anyone have a link? Or more info on to what to look for.

Sounds good mate... Screen shots would be cool!
Now I just gotta hope that the guys over at xdadevelopers sort out Blackberry Connect for it, then it could be on the cards for me!

sony ericsson has lied me about RAM, they said 128MB RAM of 384MB RAM is for 3D chip whereas SDRAM is not VRAM OR this moment x1 is still prototype product because i heard x1 date is pushed back to end of october (weeks 44)..

SE never lied about video ram. No SE rep ever said there was 128MB ram for video. What was said was that there was 384MB RAM. There was never any mention of video.
btw, SDRAM can be used for video, infact 90% of pc motherboards on the market have onboard video chips that utilise RAM for memory.

I believe the "3D chip" is actually built into the MSM7200a processor and not a separate chip. And there is not 128MB anywhere onboard this processor.

No wonder

are not saying anything official!
They must be praying the whole horrible RAM issue will just go away, as for la la Leigh she must be fuming, that product Mgr made such a c**k up over the amount of RAM in the X1 on the web cast.
Still its all just another day on Sony Ericsson's road to self destruction, and they wonder why they are hemorrhaging money, the reason is simple, they stick far to rigidly to their policy of only recruiting truly "clueless" people!
ps In my opinion Johnny -X and Xperiancers are a total waste of time and money especially as 16 days after the products official release you still cannot buy it! (at least not in the UK)

Hi
The spec sheet for MSM7200 says the following:
"Up to Video Graphics Array (VGA) resolution"
(
http://www.datasheetpro.com/8[....]ownload_MSM7200_datasheet.html )
That usually means 640x480 resolution.
And I have read somewhere that X1 has an extra 3D chip, I think it was from ATI.
