Meh, the way I see it, 2013 is a transition year for Sonys products. The start of 2012 was when Kaz took charge and he's been making a ton of massive changes behind the scenes to reorient the company, and those steps are continuing as we speak. The actual consumer products that are a result of those changes are really only starting to hit the market (ie. Xperia Z and ZL), but those are devices that would have had to have been either initially concieved of or designed at the very beginning of this new Sony, at the very latest. The results of Sonys various divisions coming together to become a more unified, cohesive force will become more and more apparent throughout 2013 and I would imagine by 2014 we will see a fully ready to go One Sony in business.

As far as the cell phones go, we'll continue to see more and more integration. Sony has a monsterous technological heritage to call upon for ways they can uniquely differentiate themselves from everyone else in the mobile market. It's now just a matter of them actually doing it, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing the results. The 2013 cell phone lineup is also something in a state of flux as observed by the fact that Sony is still operating on the multiple flagship per year schedule, whereas by next year it'll be a single flagship for the year. The Xperia Z and ZL IMO are not the best Sony can do, but they were good enough for Sony to toss out onto the market before the competitors could get their phones out, and these phones will help them to gain market share. The 2H flagship and phablet will continue this trend, but likely be a lot more representative of what Sony can do when they have their full power behind designing a mobile device. I can only guess what the 2014 lineup will be like, but I'm willing to bet we're going to have a few "holy shit" moments when we do finally see what they're up to.

Anyways, just my speculative ramblings about what I think is going on and what we will see. Very exciting times for Sony fans

sorry for going off topic
samsungs eye scroll ll be just something to showoff n has almost no pracrical implication.... just imagine a person holding a sIV n using eye movements to control his mobile soon he will have immense headache n his extraocular muscles would have fatigued.... intrinsic muscles of thumb r designed by nature to be fast, easy for a purpose n it would be much easy to use ur thumbs n other fingers than torturing ur eyes. so am not excited abt this eye scrolling like you alll.... I just pity those Samsung fanboys who r going to have new headaches( in addition to those caused by the reemergence of Sony n xperia z)......

that's wat am also saying.... everyone will flock to Samsung......but real innovations which assist the user or give a new useful exciting feature s needed (like floating touch, pure view camera, stylus, capacitive touch).... this eye scrolling ll be exciting but it's usefulness is wat am doubting.... but am not going to jump to conclusions before seeing it n experiencing it first hand....
@tapas if something becomes a hit it doesn't mean they are great(eg: latest iPhones, harry potter, Justin beiber:-P)

I don't believe eye scrolling is a genuine must have innovation but it's not like Samsung are the only company who push 'new' gimmicky tech. ALL the big companies do it, including our precious.

I think we should wait to see how the eye scroll will work before being so skeptical. Face unlock with the detection of blink was pretty clever by samsung and its present in T too. So not everything is a gimmick.

Anyway will sony release a new smart watch or was this the last watch by them?

Any innovation, small or big is always welcome. Even if it's from Apple, Samsung or Sony. It's always welcome.

I loved Apple to make every one use touchscreen phones. Indeed the OS is simple and user friendly.

I loved Samsung to make people realise the potential of what Android is capable of.

last but not the least.. I loved Sony for always bringing innovation at it's best. Right from T68i to Xperia. They have always done a great job. From touchscreen & stylus to water resisstant phone.

What I would like to see from other manufacturers?

Apple coming out with a new iOS look and add features that has been missing since a long time.
Samsung, if you want to beat Apple keep coming out with innovations like eye scrolling and all. We want that!

Sony, We need a power pack hardware phone from you rest you really got it all!

& Nokia, you got amazing camera but you need Android, accept it!
