Sorry about that. My condolences.

They've been #2 since around mid-2005, though Vee die-hards refused to accept that fact. But NCC's statistics corroborate that. Up Glo!

So? Some of us have been boycotting for a while now - by opting for CDMA mobiles. People should just do the same rather than boycott for one or two days and then go back to using them! My method is more effective: I use Starcomms as my regular mobile, and resort to GSM for those trips outside Lagos (like once a year ).

I save money; the CDMA guys make money; GSM guys lose money.

As you may know, I don't have a problem with technology (I use all and any technology as it serves my purposes), but where the operators begin to act against my interests (in this case, the GSM guys had me and my contacts spending way too much to speak to ourselves), I walk away.

Here's what I say to Nigerian consumers: Learn to "vote" with your money!

Coolapostle,I thank you for the welcome even though you aren't well pleased by the fact that I am a guy.
Accept my sympathy over your late cousin.

If glo has 5million subs, what about MTN, Mtel and Vmobile? Someone should pls tell us the real statistics for all the operators in Nija.

I would also like to switch to CDMA but waiting till the free GPRS is over before switching.

@mikky: But they are. I see Starcomms sales people on the roads regularly handing out fliers and explaining to people. Multilinks recently did something similar.

And I am convinced that people are already buying the idea en masse. 80 per cent of people on my contacts list now have non-GSM lines (both mobile and fixed). Yes; most still have their GSM lines, but now use them so infrequently.

@Coola: Sorry about your cousin. I just came back fom my father-inlaw's burial[the old man was hospitalised all through our marriage ceremonies and passed on 3 days after our marriage].

With respect to CDMA/GSM choice: Most of my contacts are still on GSM and glo's postpaid still remains cost- effective for voice and data. I can't stop praising opera mini: it has drastically reduced my gprs bills.

Nigeria v Tunisia: No better way to pay them back...great penalty shoot-out.

Congratulations are in store for a Super win by the Super Eagles. Can we have some of your players? Our current lot are useless.
