P9x0 users will hate the jog dial of M600i It is completed blocked by the protruding plastic design that makes scrolling a pain...

Hi cam1701, the P910i was designed to sort out P900's lack of RAM memory issues and solved it very well indeed, where we could easily start up about 20 quality apps and leave them running in the background w/o issues at all. I at first thought the M600i/P990i could have enough RAM memory as 64MB is definitely much more than P910i's 48MB. However, it seems like UIQ 3 is really sucking up too much memory... I really hoped this is just a bug/memory leakage issues that can be sorted out via firmware updates, else we are really going to fact the same old P800/P900 issues all over again.

I just tried surfing the net and was left with about 7MB or RAM (with contacts, tasks, calendar, etc started in the background too). Then I started MMS, creating a new one and put in the "fish" picture from the images folder. I save it as a draft and then goes back to "Today" screen and check the status of my memory. Just as I had expected, the OS so "kindly" automatically kills off all my background apps, including Opera, just to make way for MMS to function properly

Sony Ericsson should have long understand this issue since P900, and after anticipating the P990i for so many months since even before Oct 2005, I am really disappointed at what I see on the M600i during these 2 days of tests...

Lastly, any M600i owners realises the "shadow" effects on your phone? This is much like Windows XP's default eye candy that makes opening up of menus, etc looks nicer, but dramatically slows down you PC actually? Well, this to me, has very negative effects on the M600i. Even with applications already started and runs in the background, a switch between various apps has been slowed down due to this eye candy effects that UIQ 3.0 is trying to show. I really hoped there is a way to stop these effects, like we can in Windows XP...

Thanks for that. I may be holding onto my P910i for a little while longer. How are we doing apps being updated from UIQ2 to UIQ3?

Since the mediaplayer is a part of the Symbian OS it should not be different on W950. Maybye the feature comes with a firmwareupdate in the future...

I don't own an M600, but I think I've read in this thread somewhere that they are actually talking about the "C" key on the keyboard. As in simply the letter "C" on the qwerty area. Hope this helps! (and someone correct me if I'm wrong)

The "C" key on the phone...........I have another stupid question as well.

I can't seem to install themes from the SE site. By accident I deleted the themes that came with the phone, but when I go to the WAP site from SE, I have no problems downloading the themes onto my phone. The file says "userdd", but how do I install the theme? If anyone can help that would be great.
