to be honest i dont really get that music edition on those n fones, nokia was never famous of sound quality, next to it a symbian fone is focused on more serious things like music imo

Hi all,
I have a news on the firmware update for the N93 Mike72 @My-Symbian posted the following update to the situation.
"N93 release V2.0 was first made available to the public on 16 October. We monitor update statistics and noticed an unacceptably high number of potential update failures being reported. This was also matched by a high number of posts in these boards about customers claiming to have problems and some ending up with devices which could not be switched on again.
These two factors meant our only option was to disable the product temporarily while investigations took place - that was on 3 November, and our investigations are still continuing. There are technical differences between updating using Nokia Software Updater and updating in a service point - the only problems are updating with NSU.
We are studying ways to rectify the situation in a satisfactory manner, and hope to be able to offer software updates for the N93 in early 2007.
We apologize for the inconvenience, frustration and disappointment caused. "
On reading this news i phoned my local Service Centre and at last they have the update for me so off my phone goes tomorrow and Yes i am excited and looking forward to the improvements especially the camera app not reverting to the front camera when you swivel the screen round. Will report further findings later along with a review of this awesome smart phone.

@Boba,
and then some seeing as i have only been using Nokia's apart from the odd phone in the past since June i am well and truly converted. IMO the N93 is the best smart phone i have ever used bar none and the M600 i had can't even get near. I love it's build quality and the way it handles everything i have asked of it, it may not have a touchscreen but being able to see the screen clearly in virtually all conditions more than makes up for it IMO.
Now i will try and put together a users review shortly does anyone think i should just post it in here or does it deserve it's very own thread?

Hi all,
Just a quick update prior to my review, having collected my N93 with the new Firmware all i can say is start up up time has really been cut. Seeing as this is a smart phone i can't believe just how quick it is 28secs including entering my pin to to fully on. Also opening apps is now virtually instantaneous even with Tom Tom the globe spins for such a short time if you blink you'll miss it. The Camera problem when turning the screen to Landscape mode is now fixed no more front Camera activation and when going to Landscape from flip open mode there is no delay at all.

@Dogmann, I'm not sure what you mean by 28sec's to full power on for boot up of your N93? Can you clarify that when you power it on from say after 5mins of being fully powered off, then powering it on from when you press the power button that it turns on and gets signal strength & network connectivity (GSM/3G - 3G I'm expecting takes roughly 30secs AFTER GSM is acquired)?! Thanks.
> So nobody here in this thread in the North America continent considering the Nokia N75 or in Europe for the 6290 flip phones (S60)?
Just in case you're all not aware of those models....
N75

6290

Oddly enough, Nokia calls the N75 a multimedia computer, yet it doesnt have a FLash for its 2MP Camera. ??
