I'm not updating to this FW. I'll stick with the previous one. Phone is stable and don't see this has improved enough to update.

This firmware is much better than the last one - my upgrade was flawless and the firmware is noticeably faster, more stable and generally a pleasure to use.
I would suggest that many of the gripes/problems being expressed in this thread could be solved with a second flash or internal disk format and that users should try these things before starting rants about how bad SE are. I would also suggest not installing any 3rd party software which isn't absolutely necessary for day-to-day use.

BOTH keylocks work fine for me (with R5A17). There is one "Automatic keylock" under Security > Locks in the Control Panel, and that one only works when the flip is closed. The other one, "Automatic input lock" is found under Device > Screensaver in the Control Panel, amd that one is only for Flip Open/Off. I guess you're just using one of the two... If that's not the case, you should do a master reset or internal disk format.
Don't ask me why

split the keylock in two, they just did.
Did they separate the two in this new FW? I recall that there were 2 before too, but the auto keylock was enough with FO. Now there isn't.
One other thing is that my Music Player stops playing music after approx. 1 min when using my headphones. Without the there's no problem.
Anyone?

In fo mode, the auo keylock dont work until you use the switch on the side.It should work on its own.

I agree with ares and dualist, I think it's worth updating to the latest fw as there really is a difference. Just avoid restoring anything if you can.

I am sorry if this has been talked before, please let me know the link if so.
I use shortcuts a lot, my problem is i am not able to add more shortcuts in FO mode then editing the given 9 shortcuts. Is there a way to add more? in FC mode i can add more but if i want to delete some then the delete disappers untill i reboot my device and get the delete back. am i the only choosen one or some body else has noticed this?
By the way am really really impressed with SE work in more tab for hiding active menu icons on the screen in FC mode. This makes grate visibility for those cool 'laetitia casta' & ' drew barry more' wallpapers and theme

Sorry to sound like Mr Negative but has anyone worked out how much time they have actually had to spend re-configuring, flashing, reading and writing to forums about the P990i?
Personally I estimate my time to be a full 24hrs, which should not be necessary in this day and age.

It's an ongoing process man
Considering that the people here are way more knowledgeable than SE support, I would call it time well spent...
Of course I agree with you, we shouldn't have to but in theory I like the P990, so I put up with it
