Shall we ask about it on the SE partner support?
Hi Lisa,
Did you ask SE about H264 codec support in the P1i?
Thanks,
Malcolm

Hi all,
But even if SE says so what difference will that make? the P990 white paper said it would support MAC's which of course it didn't. According to SE there are no real problems with the P990, M600 or W950 just how can trust anything these people say any more is just beyond me.
But it's your money so do as you please but it will be a cold day in hell before SE see another penny from me.
The raeson why SE treat you like this is quite simply you continue to give them the benifit of the doubt and let them and at the end of the day you get what you deserve.
Marc

In that case it will probably be coming with the same bugs as the P990 since they have the same fw.

PCMan,
Everything is VERY fine with my head. I'll edit out ANYONE's post that I'm quoting - IF the quote that I'm replying to is related to the topic. You're FULL quote that I edited had nothing to do with the error issue spoken about. most of you're post, on the previous page, that I edited were reply's to others in the thread that had nothing to do with the error. So its irrelevant to my reply. I'm not going to quote YOUR reply that had another 2 ppls quotes In IT that is not relevant. Many ppl surf these pages on a limited data plan, and clicking the quote button specifies this.
Check yourself, before you banter down others, pls.
Basically you confirmed that the error of the p990i's text issue was real, I just think its related to the firmware/software (GUI implementation) not the core OS - Symbian. The hardware between the P990i and the P1i is different , significantly enough that code is modified.

By all accounts the camera in the E90 is also excellent so no advantage to either device here either.

i think i have to disagree here, most of the time when i saw the sample shots from the E90 it's similar to the ones in 7390 by which the autofocus does not work as reliable as in P1's prototype samples especially on text shots in both infinite and macro shots. not to mention P1 has two LED flashes to add more lighting on night shots. while E90 has only one. one thing i have noticed also on E90 is that the light is weak when capturing low lights whereas P1 demo unit's LED flash was fixed and is boost to the brightest setting. also the sensor size and focal length of the E90 is smaller than P1 affecting dynamic range optimization which favors the P1.

@razec
You are free to believe what ever you wish but in the full reviews of the E90 the camera results have all been impressive but if your deciding factor on a Business smart phone is going to be the camera you deserve all that you get.
The E90 to be blunt is in a different league as a business device it is running the most powerful processor and graphics found in any Symbian smart phone to date and unfortunately all of these things are missing in the P1 which is still running basically the same spec as the older UIQ3 devices plus of course the Ram so sad for a device that could of been so much better from a device launching late 2007. Oh yes and i forgot one is already available whilst the other is still coming and also still can't do VGA video recording either.
