Sorry to keep repeating myself,3rd times a charm. Can anyone speak on the video playback abilities of the p1i. Has anyone loaded video clips or a movie. How many frames per second (FPS) does it play. reason i ask being that the w960i is suppose to play tv quality at 30 fps.

I have installed Divx Player 0.88 and I will install SmartMovie later and report on the video quality ( I hope you are not in a rush cuz I don't have much time to play around at present).
Plus if someone knows how to work Divx Player on the P1 because when I launch it, all I get is black screen. I can't find any interface to open files.

BB Connect seems to be working with no problems... Took a while to fully populate my inbox and while it was doing so the UI was very slow and sluggish, all back to normal when complete...
This really does feel like the device I was looking for... It really is the same scenario as the P800 - P900 - P910... Not revolutionary in terms of functionality, but doing them all very well and in a very stylish package!

Does autofocus work for video capture? It has never worked on P990 since R5, and it now produces very blurred video and has become a much worse video cam altogether. I'm considering P1 so I hope anyone with a P1 would have an answer to this query

Looks like there is no auto focus when recording video (same as p990)...

Unfortunately itīs not a suggestion, P1i doesnīt work the way like P990i, P910i, P900i, P800 did. I have owned them all.
Hmm... are you asking for the feature whereby you can press and hold T and then the contacts starting with T will appear? I could press and hold the letters and I'll reach the contacts app, typing the letters out work on my set too.
@defiantbeast: I believed I mentioned it a couple of pages back, but anyway I managed to get All About Symbian's P1i preview video (20+ MB) playing without lag, although Engadget's take on the Honda Asimo North American debut 80+ video file failed. Do a search on this thread yeah?

Thatīs what I am asking for.
It doesnīt matter which button I press and hold, the contacts always start with A.
Do you have your contacts in the phone or SIM?
I have mine in the phone.

Hey guys,
Im new to the forum. I just received my P1 from O2 online today (its charging now!).
I upgraded yesterday and received today, pretty good service - free of charge upgrade too! I will post a few photos up if you want to see it, box etc and if i can figure out how to.
delboylee
welcome to esato! lucky you then to get that quick, i know other o2 customers have been waiting a couple days now.
to post pics, when your reply to a thread, click attach picture, choose the file you want, upload it, then copy the link into your post which is still opened (attach pic opens another page)repeat to add more photos
Ive attached a few photos of my P1 from O2 as i said i would. Havent turned it on yet though as its charging! I did notice O2 branding saying welcome when i put the charger in, the box doesnt appear to have any O2 branding though.
Im looking forward to putting applications etc on it! my first real smartphone (dont really consider the Nokia N80 as one, that was sh*t!!) so this will take a bit of getting used to.
Thanks,
Derrick

basoost - Doesn't look like I'll need to go to Stoke after all, my tracking number now seems to be picking up the right package. I know what you mean about DD's at bad times though, any time's a bad time!
By waiting a couple of weeks you may get a phone with a new firmware too.
