Beats the N96, LG's new QWERTY, and Samgung's G810 in terms of consumer appeal. Very exciting week for SE, and there's still more to come!
Does it?, in which way exactly.
I should have specified, I'm thinking in terms of NA consumer appeal. People don't care about auto focus or have a clue what terms like HSUPA stand for. All that matters here is if it has a touch screen, QWERTY keyboard, and looks good (you should see how many people have that Venus, and they're SO proud of it). SE has stated that they will be marketing the X1 more heavily in NA than previous SE devices, so they are going to sell a ton of these. The only problem is that people will shy away from it when they find out it can't run iTunes (yes, people have asked me if iTunes will work on it when I told them about the X1 yesterday). Now that I think of it it's hard for the X1 not to beat its competitors in NA since those other phones will probably never make it over here, except for the LG.

I am looking at this X1 more and ...hmmm.. don't know what to say.
I mean the nice animation that SE was showing is fine but I am afraid that nehind that, 1 or 2 menus deeper the WM6 user interface is there....
And oh boy....WM6 UI sucks so much these days.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Loox N560 with a VGA display which is a beauty...for 2006...but now it is 2008 and I am afraid about that behind the nice animations the shitty WM6 UI will be seen.
I've seen already the "Start" button in the pictures taken by esato which is bad bad. No one should use that WM6 UI anymore...it is simply obsolete.
Look at HTC...they built the startup screen on top of WM6 one...because the WM6 is simply ugly

The HW is all HTC, that's a plus in my book, smart move by SE to get HTC to do all the hard work and allow themselves to take all the plaudits.
Come on, an SE with WM on board, hardly takes hercule poirot to suss out it's origins!!
except if it's using the same terrible camera from the tytn 2 or kaiser lol
