But doesn't buying something like that total ruin the appearance of the iPhone 4? The plastic cover will have to cover the sides if not the back of the phone too which defeats the point of the sleek unique design with stainless steel running round the edges of the phone because that will be covered by the rubber. So in order to fix the reception problem (maybe not as bad as it seems in video) you need to change the physical appearance of the phone, something that apple will have been working on for months and stick some rubber round the edges isn't really a solution because it wont have the classic look of the new iPhone 4, so destroys one of its main features. Once you put a skin on it you lose a big appeal of the iPhone.

@Bonovox, lol, thats what I assumed.. perhaps you should mention that you have no real experience to compare devices when giving a single word comparative answer to someone (apparantly) asking for a sincere opinion
@Miss UK, as usual you give a generalisation without any real point for discussion. "A much better phone"... maybe.. but why?... and having used the Desire for a month now... its good, fast, regular app updates, good screen size and clarity, but I can't see it as a "MUCH" better phone?
Happy to discuss
edit: @mriley... totally agree.. I've always used my iphone in their naked form

Sorry I ment the other half said that not me
for me it's not how they look but how they handle everything,
I was pretty set lovin the iP4 until some o people here started making putting of stuff!
im trying to keep away from iP4 cos I prob will do something crazy and buy it if i see it,
ive got a phone which is good enough for now anyway!
iP4's are a big craze for the time being,
but that should fade

People just love jumping on the anti-anything-succesful bandwagon!
True, but isn't that because Apple sets the bar very high with their marketing of the iPhones? I can't say anything about user experience because I haven't used one. It might sound like people are standing up and jeering at
Apple's mistakes not the iPhone 4 because they're very successful. But there has to be criticism expected with a phone like this because the expectations of it are so high; because of both the price and the marketing.
We should look at the phone for its good points and its bad points instead of constantly focusing on one. Then we can make a choice whether its any good for its price

@mriley... sure.. I'm the first to recognise that Apple thrives on hype. Fortunately I recognise that but am willing to allow my previous experiences to allow me to continue using the iPhone... but I'm also sensible enough to know that if I get let down big time I'll be thinking twice about that philosophy... and part of that has surely made me look at the Desire, and android, with open eyes compared to my old favourite of Windows Mobile even though version 7 is coming soon

been there done that. I tried it on the N710 and N810 and gave it a go in the N900 for a solid couple of weeks.
I got the impression that Nokia couldn't decide whether it was a tablet OS or a mobile phone OS but IMHO it didn't work well with either. I guess Nokia feel the same which is maybe why they're moving now to meego! which again will have to mature before it gets general approval.
