I suspect if Sony was still using Motion Eye , they 1 ii would still be able to do same with higher res.
Mobile sensors are usually faster than bigger sensors.
A9 reads 24MP when 1 ii reads 6MP.
No dram = no anti-distortion shutter (pretty important for motion)
Bonus: mobile01 has many samples of 10 ii. Very hard to see difference of sharpness between center and corner of main camera.

I agree, will be very difficult to gain marketshare right now even Samsung is struggling against the wave of Chinese influx into the market.
Samsung is only in a good position right now due to its good marketing, fanbase and good carrier relations. Chinese phones are definitely pushing everyone to their limits.

Looks like Huawei has at least 70% of their sales in China.
Samsung is popular everywhere , except China, Japan and obviously North Korea.
