Xperia watch UK...

Carphone warehouse has xperia display as stated earlier... free handset on orange for £45 a month including free internet. Guy expects phone in on the 25th as he had an SE rep the store yesterday giving a pressentation. He also said the the xperia was going to be his next phone - which is a good sign...

As the deal was on orange i popped into an orange store only to be told that orange are expecting the phone somewhere in the middle of next month THEN it has to be tested(!). They are hopping to get it out before xmas! Not sure if this info is correct - the girl seemed pretty clueless...

anybody confirm any of this?

But, if you're syncing with Windows Media Player on your desktop, you should be able to set the sync settings for your device (in this case, X1) to use MP3 format. I am interested to know whether this conversion will carry over the album artwork from Media Player, though... can someone test that out?

Won't you be further degrading the quality of the file (going from WMA to MP3)? Why not reconvert the originals?

Yes, this is a 'transcode', so yes you would be degrading quality, however reconverting the originals is a pretty serious pain in the ass when you've spent a LOT of time archiving your entire CD collection into WMA Lossless format For a mobile copy of maybe a dozen or so select albums I can swap out whenever, I'll take the hit in quality for simplicity's sake.

Does anybody know how big the memorycard with the movie Hancock is?
If you did a pre-order of X1 in Sweden you will receive this, my memorycard is in the post on its way to me.

I did a pre-order but haven't heared anything about an included movie. I only read some rumors it might be included with the phone. But it wasn't. At least not in my box.
There was, however, a memory card included. It was as big as 4GB, which was a positive surprise since I would have been glad to get a 2GB card.

The Hancock card is a 1 GB microSD with the movie and trailers of some other movies on it. The reason why you haven't got it is because they were delayed from the manufacturer.

I thought I read somewhere here about a site that showed how to be able to use the pen for writing directly on the screen. But now I can't find it...

I don't seem to have that option.. To write text directly on te screen with the stylus that is. Text recognizing...

Anyone figured this out? Please share..

This is a standard feature of Windows Mobile, and has been since the beginning;
when inputting text, tap the icon in the lower center of the screen; a popup menu should come up. Choose TRANSCRIBER.
If you look in the Transcriber options, you can train it for your specific handwriting style so its recognition abilities improve.
