Hold on a minute! Who the hell are all these noobs giving me a hard time? Of course I praised the phone when I got it. But as the excitement wore off it was obvious to everyone the picture quality isn't sharp enough outside of macro because of the over bearing noise reduction. I've made several posts about that so you newbies don't tell me I'm contradicting myself, try actually reading all my posts. And what is wrong with enjoying VGA quality video? Christ it's not like I'm a sony hater is it? I didn't say it was the be all end all of the phone! It's just an advantage of the N82. And it's more than a "distraction" "(from what I have no idea but whatever!) it's a very usefull tool. Some things are only captured with video and the higher the quality the better. So to all those people getting on my back for whatever reason kindly get off! I've been a loyal user to this site for a long time and I don't need hassle just cause I've changed phone! And just as a quick bit of info, you can get the C905 from any CPW on Orange pay as you go for £359. It's still unlocked and unbranded. Don't ask for sim free ask for pay as you go. Anyway that's enough typing on the phone I'm bored now!

I never use video on my C905 much. I had the N95 which was great for video but it's not a must have. I will hold off until they make HD cameras in phones.

The C905 has the best camera on a phone at the moment.

Well, that's your opinion. Some say the Innov8 is even better/more detailed ! For night pics with flash the se is tops, everything als - the Samsung. One thing is sure: The video rec. is NOT a gimmic on the top s60 devices. I am into videos since the '80s and I truly enjoy my n95 8gig for a quick record. SE does say 'people do not take video rec in a cell phone serious', but the more of you say 'video in a cell is useless', the longer you'll have to wait for se to wake up.

The Innov8 is much sharper. The C905 rules the roost as far as macro, and quick, close up snaps is concerned. Landscape or anything bigger, the Noise Reduction ruins the picture by taking away the detail and adding the watercolour effect.
Just take a look at the stunning detail the Innov8 captures in landscape:

The C905 has a big problem in that respect, as has been discussed many many times in the Photo section.

@Marty You risk been 'stamped' as a SE hater and a Nokia fanboy,if you don't stop point out bad things about SE's 'flagship' ! ! ! For me it does not matter but for you it might. By the middle of next year Sony (if they stop firing people for a change), might just bring out the new graphic chip for cell phones. 12 or so mp and half hires video rec. is on the table and if we are REALLY lucky, in the 2nd half of 2009, we should see all this in a 'haptic' controlled s60 SE device ! Lets hope, the build quality will improve too and my next phone might just be a SE (fingers crossed)

If people label me that after owning a nokia for one week, and loving sony ericsson for so long, their opinion is not even worth worrying about. Particularly the last two critics who've been on this site for about 5 mins and think they can criticise members however they like. I still love sony ericsson phones, but I'm entitled to my own voice. I honestly don't care what others think, because they clearly don't know me very well at all.

As a rule, sliders will tend to have some give in them. It has been noted by a few members on here that the slider on the C905 seems to be more shaky than most. The one I had in particular could move at least 1mm to the right in the closed position, which is really quite loose.

I wouldn't worry if you hardly notice it, but for me the whole top part was moving all the time and was far to annoying to use.

Samsung phones I've had in the past have been quite tight, and loosened up very slightly over time, but still remained very rugged. My main concern with the C905 was that if the slider was this loose new, how would it feel in 6 months? You should use your own judgement on that, and check through this thread to see other common faults to look out for like scratched keys, dead earpiece etc.

On a side note I just tried tv out on my nokia and the vga video looked superb on a full screen. Obviously not dvd quality, but the quality you would get from a cheap vhs camera a few years ago, which is more than I hoped for. Very useable and totally acceptable.

It makes up for the things I do miss from 's excellent menu system, like pure simplicity and quick access to media.

Anyway hope you enjoy your phone and it is much less trouble than mine was!
