I bought mine last Friday around lunch. I called up Semicon Main and spoke to Ms. Reina (Regina???) of sales. There was no assurance of a refund (think its one of non negotiables) but promised that she's working on it. This is unprecedented, price change in less than 15 hours after release. Could this be a reaction to the list price of service providers? (Globe sells at 23k unit only) I could've just waited for my reserved units at Rockwell. Eto, excited kaya napasama pa tuloy. 6 thousand din yun ha.

@ArnoldC Inefficient nga for Mr. Lina's service, I was being sarcastic when I typed efficient.

@DLreyes Are you pushing for a refund due to price adjustment? Who else do you know hase been affected? With regards to annual fees, how do you do it? Banks really charge the merchant a minmal percentage for the services offered like credit. Normally, merchants like Semicon, Fridays, CPK or FORD Alabang charge the same for cash and card purchases. Using the credit card is an added service for the customer. I dont approve that Semicon will pass that surcharge to customers buying phones. I got six... However if you buy accessories, cash and charge is the same. I remember my hbh 30 which costs around 7k was purchased using my card but price was VIP discounted based on cash price. Out of all the merchants I have dealt with, 2 na lang nag charge sa customers ng dapat sa kanila. Semicon and PC Express, lets be fair.

It used to be a cash economy but its now credit. Finance, annual fees and surcharges are part of the credit card business. If you dont want them or dont approve of it, dont use your card. We pay our fees, the merchant pay their fees. Kung sa kin i charge yun 6%, they should pay a portion of my annual fee too. hehehe

@MFB- di dapat ipasa sa consumer yung TAX AND COMMISSION NG ACQUIRING BANK. i know it's illegal.

Can you get more info on this? Dapat itigil na talaga yang pasahan na yan. When we celebrate big dinners in restaurants with bills sky rocketing, we dont get an additional 6% surcharge right? (Unless swapang yun merchant) Dapat nga pag bulk may discount.

Btw, for those who bought the T610 already wag magulat. Flickering(pulsating) of the stn screen is normal. Think its the refresh rate slowing down (Daw..) a fix might be on the way. Its not bad, di nga nahalata ng karamihan. It just comes out when you use the phone intensively or when its plugged. Honestly, it doesnt really matter. Its a great phone and a rightful sucessor to the t68i... Kahit na overcharged ako ng Semicon by 6000 pesos.

I got mine from the main branch too on Friday afternoon at 22k. And now they dropped the price to 21k. I don't understand the logic. P1000 is not really much but money is money and it's cheaper than the VIP+ price which i bought. Why should i apply for the VIP+ then? I hope they have a good explanation on this matter.

At least when i bought the P800 at first launched was 38.5k (VIP+) and recently only they drop to 36k (i think) after almost 7 months. That's reasonable.

I plan to write Semicon a letter regarding the abrupt price change for the T610 citing out my loyalty to the company through my purchases of phones and original accessories, their sense of fairness and understanding of the consumer's plight and a precedent where Semicon gave a refund through the issuance of gift certificates for a friend who bought a Nokia 7650 one week before the price went down by around P2,000.

I know because I made that letter which was used. I am not worried because I'm sure Semicon would understand and as evidenced through this thread, we care so much on the improvement of their service.

vince - you still owe me the hbh-30 manual when can i expect it?

I have the flickering problem too and i just spoke to Semicon Main Office, they told me to bring it over to have it checked and if it has to be replaced, they will do so. And one more thing, they are preparing for a P1000 cash rebate voucher for those who bought at the higher price which is 22.5k for cash buyer and 22k for VIP+ card holder.

@all

have you noticed that the battery (T610) has no
lifespan indicator on the info screen....
just wondering....

ei..

just a note on the aluminum haze....
its kinda an advantage selecting this color, coz i saw the others (blue and red) somewhat similar to the nokia 8210 series color... and when tear and wear strikes... it is more obvious to be seen compared to the aluminum, specialy the scratches....

:)

* on the screen flickering.... common on all week release, specialy those purchased wk 19 and below.... can be seen specialy when in camera mode....

I guess they left out the battery standby time this time. I remember my t28 didn't show available standy time when a non-original battery was used.

About the "flickering", Semicon says that it's a Sony Ericsson phone's problem but they will still check it.

Have any of you guys tried the "night mode" in the camera? It just the same as the P800's "night mode", I don't see any difference unlike the Nokia 7650.
