@mistamatrix

Does vTap require you to always be on GPRS or you can also stream via WiFi? Especially now that some people have mentioned that C905 streaming via WiFi is an elusive thing...

Hi, I have it streaming on GPRS, 3G, HSDPA & WIFI.
I had streaming problems at home on my wifi because my router had a problem with RTSP (real time streaming protocol), it was the only problem I was having so I concentrated all my geeky efforts to solving it, till I decided to 'debrand' my router (a speedtouch 780WL 'BeBox') to the original thompson firmware, which magically fixed the issue I was having and since I haven't looked back. The YouTube app works great and I'm expecting the BBCi site to work well next week!

Hate to say it but my earpiece has broken! May be saying hello to my third C905 soon. I would get another phone but there is nothing else I like. I cant believe a flagship phone is so badly built.

luckily carphone whore house here in the UK are pretty good and usually just do a straight swap. It still takes an hour of pissing round though. I will report early next week as to how i get on.

From what I gathered the dead earpiece thing doesn't seem to be a hardware problem. I think it's software related; some audio drivers may have been incorrectly read by the phone. I guess that's why CPW can afford to simply swap phones when one is returned, because it's an OS bug. But this is just my theory.

If its software then why does reloading the firmware not fix it?

Another theory on that: I think the R1BA042 firmware has not fixed that bug yet (the developers may have detected the bug too late).

You could be on to something there... But if thats the case then a master reset should fix the earpiece for a while

Well, I read on another thread that if you press C (to mute the mic) and then press C again (to unmute the mic) then the earpiece will come back alive for the remaining of the call. Dunno if it persists on the next call though. Haven't tested it since I haven't got a C905
