just wondering what apps u guys use to back up your data on the phone? i use Astro file manager to backup apps on my X10 and uses Gmail and Sony Ericsson Sync to back up my contacts, calendar etc. Is there any better apps that back up all the data on the phone in one place so that if anything goes wrong u can have the backup in place? Thanks !

I've tried Gmail to sync my contacts, but without a good result. It is just not 100% compatible. I have put +46 in front of all my phonenumbers, but Gmail looses the + sign so my phonebook becomes worthless. You can't dial without the + sign unless you skip the country code. Therefore when I'm in the phonebook I choose settings/more and Copy to contact/Memorycard. Then the backup will be on the memorycard 100% compatible with your X10.

@mange69 when does gmail lose the + ? got scared when i saw what you wrote, and checked my gmail contacts, and they all have the + infront of the number?
you mean it loses when updating contacts from gmail>phone? never tried that, but it works fine the other way around.

Check your contacts in your gmail on the web. Do they have + or not? It happened to me once and I have not tried it again. Maybe it was a one-time thing, but...

I also lost my contacts when syncing with the GMAIL account... its better to do this sync at first, and then add contacts later.

Hi,
I try to install a Walkie talkie log today... It says me i don't have the root access and do this to have one:
$ su
$ mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
$ cd /system/xbin
$ cat su > suser
$ chmod 4755 suser
$ exit
$ suser
$ cd /system/bin
$ chmod 4755 su
My question is where can i write this, how to open the console ?
