just asking for opinions. should i buy the X1 instead of a netbook? mainly be used for entertainment and some document editing. a couple of pages ain't that hard on the X1 keybord right? also can it read usb flash drives with some kind of adapter?
p.s. me too, i always need to sign in even i ticked the "remember me" box
I think you are on the right track. The Xperia is a laptop in a pocket.
Entertain yourself Watching your videos and movies, listen to your music, carry your photo album, Play games
And when you get serious, pull out the keyboard and send and receive Email, write some letters with WORD, keep your info with EXCEL
Organize your life with a Calendar, Phone Book and Notes
And as a bonus the GPS will take you where you are going. The Internet wil keep you inform, Google knows anything you want to know.
Plus you can take pictures, record videos and call your friends and tell them what a wonderful hand computer you have.
YES the Xperia is for you.
.
The Big and well speced keys will make your typing easier han those number keypads.
Yes I believe I saw somewhere and adapter. However you can buy a usb drive that uses microSD. You get the best of both worlds in one shot. Because you can have multiple microSD's in one USB drive and you can move stuff back and forth from your Xperia to any computer instantly.

Netbooks are far cheaper than X1 itself!

how dare you comparing them!!!

BTW Take note that X1 is still a pocket PC not a full fledged PC just like what netbooks like Eee or Inspiron mini or Acer one are. and Netbooks (with the exception of Eee PCs) have far more comfortable keys as well. Netbooks are far more powerful in terms of processing and also you can plug almost everything on netbooks using standard USB.
Hi razec. You are PERFECTLY RIGHT. If that is for you. But other people want what is perfectly for them.
Let me
dare to help someone with my opinon again.
I listen carefully what
Athrunmoon apparently wants: a phone with some entertaiment and some light document editing. And
his choices are Xperia X1 or Laptop.
The cheapest laptop won't do it. No phone, too much power for his documents needs and less convenient portable entertainment plus is a little heavier and hard to keep it in his pocket shirt.
His other choice, Xperia, can give all athat with some pluses.
He didn't mention price as one of his conditions. All of us here pay a little more for the convience of a mobile. However let's check the cost:
Very Cheap laptop $400
Cheap Camera with decent video recording $100
Cheap phone $50
Cheap GPS $200
Cheap MP3 player $50
Cheap Palm PDA $100
A bag to carry all that stuff $25
Weight several pounds
TOTAL $925 plus all the inconveniences
Xperia unlocked about $925 with all the conviniences
Weight 150 gm
Xperia branded in Europe from $0 to $500
in USA $300-$500
@athrunmoon,
So, athrunmoon, between the Laptop and Xperia according to your needs. I [B]dare[B/] to recommend you the Xperia. If you give more wants and needs I can better help you to choose.

How much is an Xperia made out plastic, without keyboard, no UMTS, low resolution, 1.3 mp camera, no front camera, a lot other stuff missing?

one of swedens biggest tech-magazins gave Xperia quite bad judgements
it was to slow, (it react slow when you used the screen features).......and to many bugs.
the only thing they said was really good was the keyboard, screen & buildquality
i tried for quite long time some days ago...it was slow, but it was really cool to use screen anyway.
