That 8MP camera though...4 years in a row. They seriously messed that up!

I really hoped it was gonna be the rumoured 1/2.3" 13MP Sony sensor, which would've seriously rocked. Does anyone know if Sony have actually made this sensor? Or will make this, because that would be the best camera in Android/iOS.

Also the Z4 is getting the thinner 1/2.4" sensor?

Well 1/2.4 is not a standard sensor size and it would make no sense for sony to use such a size, I explained many many many pages back that there would be no space saving benefits from using such a sensor, instead, evolving the 1/2.3 sensor to be smaller would be the better option.

Hopefully the Z4 will have the curved 1/2.3 sensor. Fingers crossed.

Anyone thinks that the smartwatch 3 is a bit disappointing in terms of design and generally compared to its rivals? especially to apple watch. it's like they don't care much about it. personally i don't care much about smart watches but it seems a bit strange. i would expect better from sony for third generation.

all of Sony year end devices are a bit lacking compare to the competitors, its like they knew the sales would be low to even bother or something. Z3 looks great but they went with lower res screen and most importantly older SoC while others got the latest and greatest. They have been criticize for ages releasing hardware with outdated spec and surprised everyone with Z ultra, but now they are taking a step back again.

It's not really a step back but a safe risk to not step forward too early. Safe since 801 is not that old compared to 805 and that could mean that it might be cheaper than the 805, plus it has the integrated cellular radios unlike the latter which could add to cost. Safe, again, since 1080p in a 5.2" display would have minute to none visible difference to QHD in the same display size, battery life should be better, and the panels should be cheaper. A risk since those might affect the perception of the average consumer, resulting to lower sales. I think they did their homework, that the sales should it be higher with 805 and QHD less the cost of production would result to less profit than with the sales of 801 and FHD less it's cost of production.

depends on how you look at it, from Sony side, sure. For customers no, the moment the sales rep said weaker or older SoC, whether the customers even understand or care about it at all they will turn their head towards other options. Thats like 99% of the time. Its not like the z3 cost a lot less, like Im talking about at least 100 USD difference too even compete with Note 4 etc. That's how Samsung are able to shift a lot of phones and have the burnt into average joe mind that Samsung = latest and greatest. Even Crap like S4 mini before sell, probably more than Z1C. Cheaper to build sure, but it doesn't mean crap when you can sell any of them. Sony bad rep with outdated has burn into many people minds already, If people ever check again now they will say, same old sony overprice outdated crap.

Z3 is the most complete and polished Flagship right now!

Note 4 scores even lower than or equal to Z2 despite of having the latest s805... thanks to that gimmicky 2k resolution. So s805 and 2k combo doesn't make much sense.

Not to mention the outstanding battery life Z3 is going to have just coz of S801 and 1080p coupled with new battery tech !

If I were to buy a phone now I wud happily choose Z3 over Note4

@abhiD
Which I am doing. I have updated to the Note 2 3 before but I feel it's time to break that trend.
As a matter of fact, I haven't been this excited for a new phone since I got the Note 2.

Hi guys,

Its been a while since my last post. I wonder does anyone have any idea, what might Z4 specs be? And what feature will make Sony's flagship to stand out from the crowd?

@hellogoodbye

recent rumored specs of Z4: QHD-Display, SD810, new/different battery-technology and new camera sensor. With Abdroid 5.0/L Sony will introduce a completely new UI.

Personal note:
Most likely its design and build quality will make it stand out from the crowd. Other companies want stand still while Sony is evolving. You can be sure that Samsung, LG, HTC and those rising giants from China will have some "beast" hardware ready for MWC 2015. And I think that especially Samsung will stand out with the S6 after not so overwhelming sales of S5.
