I think masseur has done it with the sim if I remember right. My brother still uses a tape player in his Ford Focus
It gets muffled & hissy but he is the type not to change it until it's died a death

yes, I did it a few times. Its much easier if you have another micro sim, or simply google a picture so you can see and compare where to trim.
These days though, I use a micro sim cutter which I bought off ebay for a few pounds.
Its identical to this...

Most likely i'll get a new sim with the phone.
I'm well aware that quadcore is on it's way and that 1gig will be small soon. About the price, it's not cheap but I think it'll bring of the joy of every penny spend.
I'll get is at (car)phone(ware)house so I can change it the first two weeks
