@frozenwaffles and all of you still waiting for new firmware for you CDA's:
progolfer9 mentioned in the
P990i: r9 (new) frimware problem list thread that there may be an additional update coming at the end of this month.

I heard that it is possible for you to bring the phone to the Service Centres and they can flash to Generic for you... at least in Singapore and Malaysia, so it must be possible elsewhere. I have not done it myself, but very tempted to since the firmware for /8 is so far behind.
