@da wanqsta: We're experiencing a momentary lull on this thread, as soon as all the regulars come out their hiding places we should be back to our old ways.
BTW, everyone is laughing at MTN- apparently their claims of having gone live with their HSDPA network seems to have been a premature April Fool's joke.

@Brix Whats the percentage of Prepaid Subs in your country? And does the average Joe have enough credit on their phones to call?

@coola: The split is probably 60/40 in favour of prepaid subs across all the networks. Of late networks have tried to incentivise migration from prepaid to contract.

@ brixster,
A good night for the Gunners with that 2-0 win over Juventus. Gee, didn't it seem weird seeing Patrick Vieira in the opposing team at Highbury, after all his time and influence at Arsenal.

Indeed it was a good night to be a Gooner. The second goal was absolute masterclass. As always Arsenal was running at Juve from all angles, it was just a matter of time before the killer goal came.
Going back to Turin, Arsenal can only be beaten by one team- themselves. I doubt that will happen though. Looking forward to either playing Villareal or Inter Milan.

Yeah, Henry's goal was a classic example of excellent ball control, balance and skill.
At least there was some good entertainment after the disappointing cricket test match outcome. Warne showed his brilliance again in emphatic fashion, but I still can't believe how umpires don't make greater use of the third umpire if there's such unclarity in deciding if the batsman's truly out or not.
There was more than one crap decision made yesterday that would have had a different outcome if they had checked the replays...; they would have had time to check these - it only takes another few minutes as we all know!

Are you still pissed off? I take my hat off to the convincts, good game and there was never any doubt as to the outcome of the match...if we had drawn this match it would've sent the wrong signal to the players.
At least we're better than the last time we played them at home. Rest assured we will beat the convicts in my lifetime...when it comes it will be the sweetest South African sports victory ever surpassing anything we've done in the pool, on the rugby field and with a football.

Still pissed off? No, disappointed and a tad frustrated maybe, but not still pissed off. Hell, life's too short and it's a case of 'deal with it and move on' for me.
I believe in giving credit where credit is due, hence my mention of Warne's performance, which along with Ponting and Lee's performances, were stellar. And yes, indeed far superior than anything SA had on offer.
I think you've known me long enough to know that I regard myself as very much a champion of fairness; I totally agree that the Aussies were again the better side, but in the same breath when unfair dismissals are given, it cannot bring out the best in people, particularly if it happens on several occasions to the side one is patriotically routing for.
That's obvious. I also do not ride on the fact that these dismissals cost us the match- that would be trying to play down the far better Aussie performance in the most insecure manner.
Enough wanqa-rant on this. Oh well, at least it's keeping this thread ticking over again.

I personally think umpires on average use different reasons when making a decision, and one is the batsmens reaction, if he looks like hes out, and you have one of the best spin bowlers in the world confusing the shit out of the batsmen and umpire.... the umpire has the last say, i like it that way no technology needed thank you!!

@786KBR: So it's agreed then that Shane Warne's impact is 40% psychological on both opposing players and umpires. The way the ball was spinning yesterday, especially the flipper there wouldn't be any doubt that 50/50 decisions would go the way of Warne...that's pure the psychological hold he's got over batsmen and umpires.
I didn't watch the full game(fortunately have to work) so I can't comment much on each of the dodgy LBW decisions.
