I've been bugging everyone for which CDA/lang for a generic western europe portuguese firmware. I don't even need to flash with the latest version, I just need to be sure it will be upgradeable using SEUS. Until now I've got no firm answers on this - and I've wasted 10 credits on DaVinci flashing to customized PT 037 just to still be unable to upgrade to 031.

The location doesn't matter, they just include different language packs, all 031 are the same. I've had China, UK, and now Indonesia, no difference.

its a cell phone and for a cell phone its realy ok. you will not find any other cell phone who manage this type of picture much better then K850 anyway.....no doubt about that.
im realy satisfield. if i want to take super sharp pictures, i use my DSLR camera.

Sorry to be daft I an new to this, can you explain which software exactly?
I see this one:
K850i R1EA031 CID52 K850 1204-7176 CUST FR/LUMINOUS GREEN FRANCE
and
K850i R1CA037 CID52 K850 1201-9794 CUSTOMIZED UK/ BLUE WESTERN-EUROPE (which people say works to upgrade to 31)
I was just thinking a straight flash to 31 might be better in resolving some issues then flashing to a 37 and upgrading.

@Plangtan While the resolution is greater the pictures are less sharper than that of k800i which is what, over two years old? I am not saying that this should be a digital camera replacement, but I would expect SE to progress not regress with their flagship cybershot phone. They still have time and I am hopeful that they improve it, but at this time I am not as content as you.
@Kavy a 31 flash is better than 37 then upgrading, just pick one closest to your location and call it a day.

Thank you for your quick response, I will take a plunge and hope that the one i pick is unbranded. As to the coloring issue was under the assumption that it ment nothing when it comes to firmware.

You should pick an unbranded one because carriers are known to disable some features, the location doesn't really matter.

That is the plan, however Davinci does not list any as being generic for the k850 like other models, instead it labels then customized ect.
I am thinking of going with
K850i R1EA031 CID52 K850 1206-0882 CUSTOMIZED ID/ VELVET BLUE APAC-ANZ
