@JediHobbes: Welcome to the thread bro. The 6280 is being advertised, and I've seen Cell C (R98x24 months) offering it on contract the other day but as always that's not a guarentee that it's available in stores. It was the same case with the N90 and N70 which were advertised by Nokia back in December but the phones only became widely available in late January.
Word of advice: Be patient, good things comes to those who wait.

@ da brixsta,
Yeah, I guess it's no use looking at all the pros and cons of the latest B-S phone range and pipe-dreaming about each and every one, when the possiblity exists that only a few specific, selected models might make it to SA shores.
The B-S EF81 becomes available in UK shops by this weekend according to CPW staff, and for the more bling-conscious, Samsung's chrome-finished version of the D600 become available here early next week.

PS: How's this for a price drop in 1 week: Orange UK dropped the PAYG price of the N70 by £80! (approx R950!) Now costs £249.99 (approx R2800 on PAYG),with free branding too.

@ da brixsta,
It'll be a while before I touch another Orange-branded handset myself.
However, I found such a significant price drop and handset depreciation of fairly general interest, more than an air of possible purchase.
Having said that, I can't complain too much about the Orange SPV C550 that I currently use as a second phone, as it was a helluva lotta phone for not much money and to be honest, I am enjoying the handset, even with it's strong vermillion accents.
However, with the hotly-debated, new Orange pricings coming into effect, I'll be using the network even less, apart from the Orange-related freebies that any Orange PAYG customer is elligible to access and utilise.

Played with a friend's N70 last night and have to say that I was mightily impressed with the phone even though it was a Vodaphone version with hideous menus. First off, browsing through the menu's is lightening fast. Another thing I enjoyed was a feature which allows you morph all your pictures as a single video...it's novel but one of the best things I've seen on a phone.

Guys check these out.
Say Yebo to Vodacom's 3G HSDPA, the fastest mobile Internet
We've heard it before - If you're not in 3G, you're not in the game. The advantages of 3G have been undeniable and to many people it has become an indispensable tool in communication without borders. Now Vodacom is introducing 3G with HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) - giving its customers access to the ever-changing global playground of broadband communications – up to five times faster than 3G, and faster than ADSL.
MTN South Africa supplies details about HSDPA roll-out
MTN South Africa recently announced that their HSDPA went live on the 22nd of March, making them the first in Africa and the 11th in the world to implement this technology.

Off to the Cambridge v/s Oxford Universities boat race along the Thames today. With all the thousands of students and raucous party atmosphere along the banks of the river, and riverside pubs that follow the snaking path through the capital, it's actually one massive party.
Don't mean to draw this into a big sport discussion, but congrats to Ntini on his eleventh 5+ wicket haul.
I don't really follow F1 too much and don't support any particular driver, but I really felt for Button this morning in the Oz GP, his engine going kaput on the last lap. A clinical performance from the ostentatious Spaniard driving for Renault, though...
@ Aalpha, nice of you to visit here again!
@ da brixsta,
What a performance by the Gunners yesterday!

Didn't have to time to watch any sports, spent the early part of yesterday in Stellenbosch at the Spier wine estate getting re-acquainted with the some fine wines. Later the evening enjoyed some of the finest musicians at the CT Jazz Festival.

Sounds like a really er.. 'chilled' (sic) Saturday that you had, brixster.
Not sure if you heard the result, but Arsenal thrashed Aston Villa 5-0.
My trusty P900 is 2 years old later this month, and still going strong. Best phone I've owned, by a country mile.
