@ Whiz... get one which supports 400Mhz DDR atleast. 512 MB min. i would recommend Ati to go with AMDs . Try a ATI 9650 AGP card. Its supports 8x so see that ur m/b does support 8x....Or

u can buy a m/b which support PCI Express!

anyone want see xtreme configs in laps?

Asus K8N-E-Deluxe looks gr8. supports ddr400 up to 3GB!, has 8 usb!,
1394! optical out , bla bla bla. i would say go for it.

but i think it has NO onboard graphics. u can get some 128MB graphics for 3k now anyway.

@ whiz..another thought! why u want 3000+ ... think its a bit on the costlier side.

also its a 64bit chip right? so driver support and stuff is less now for 64bit.

u can save money if u dont go 4 AMD64s i think. i cant give a price quote now though. will get back 2mrw if i remember:D.

and if u go for onboard graphics m/b, remember that they take 32mb atleast frm ur 256or 512MB memory.

gn 4 now

@whiz: in 35k, my friend got a AMD Athalon 64 3200+, an ATI Radeon 9600, 120Gb maxtor, 512MB ram, with a gigabyte Motherboard. He used his Combo drive from his old PC, along with his monitor and Keyboard and mouse. Seems like a good deal to me.

this is what i told whiz yesterday i mean the config exactly the same infact 35k is too much it would come in 30k to the most

So does the motherboard i mentione have onboard graphics? I've heard about these two. Asus K8N-E-Deluxe or MSI K8N Neo FSR.

Soo, if you use a AMD 3200 with your old combo and a mb with built in graphics you could end up spending just around 25.
