in on a local ISP not bt internet...

im on pay monthly so i dnt have the pre-pay option..

ive managed to get it working thru wifi, it was a router setting and i needed to add MAC address and set up a default DMZ to the phone, but i was alerted there can be security issues, whats that mean?

and is there any other way around it?

afaik as long as you have the DMZ set just for the phone then there's no problem, I don't think anyone's gonna be hacking your handset in any time soon. I read that solution too, but unfortunately the BeBox does not allow you to set a DMZ in any case. Glad you got it working. I will write to BBCi and ask them what they suggest I do, Be have already shrugged their shoulders at me. If I find a more permanent solution I'll be sure to let you know.

I've never heard of that problem before. I don't think it's a common thing. I don't expect SE will recall all C905's based on one handset's keypad locking up.

Nevertheless, it's a new phone and can be fixed under warranty. Don't hesitate, take it to the service centre and get it fixed.

The dpad isnt locked up as in it doest regitr presses, it has become very stiff and requires a mighty press to register. Other people have had the same issue.

I thought you said a softkey, my bad.

the point is, get it fixed Not all handsets have the problem, in fact only a minority do, so you'll be waiting in vain if you think SE will implement a recall for that problem.

Take it back and get it fixed or replaced under warranty. It's your legal right. Don't wait for SE to just hand you a new phone.

Im sorry but as much as i love SE i still dont understand the Nokia bashing. Nokia and SE have BOTH always been as bad as each other when it comes to build quality and the finish not lasting and software issues. With both SE and Nokia they both have some models that are quite poor and some models that are superb. They both need to tighten up. I used to have a K800i and found its finish lasted a long time with great build and(in later software)reliability. And i also had Nokia's that have lasted the same. They both need to learn a thing or two from Samsung or LG.

Samsung or LG? Yeeeah right. They've got the crappiest build quality of them all. Especially LG.

Anybody seen somebody else on the street with a C905 yet? I only seem to know myself who owns one and one or two other people.

All I see on the streets are C902's, LG Viewtys, N95's, Samsung G600's.

I think all of the above must be pretty cheap now. The LG viewty is almost £100.

Samsung mobiles are renowned for their build quality. Their sliders are spring loaded and solid. Nearly all their phones are solid although im not a fan of Samsung phones in general. When i had a play with a C905 in a 3UK store the slide kept slipping back down when pushed up it never locked into place. Nice phone though. Oh i may add that i looked in the back of Mobile Choice magazine this month and it says the C905 is number 1 in the contract charts.
