So am I to assume from what you say that using the PCSuite (which means that you are connected in phone mode) you were able to call the Update Service (which in my case says is not installed) and use the File Manager to browse files on your P990, both internal disk and memory stick?
Also doing the backup only doesn't tell me anything, it's the restore part I'm interested in which I will have to do after the fw update.
I should point out that I didn't bother to write what used to work and still works
I should have added that bluetooth modem connection does not work from within PCSuite but I can connect from Windows XP directly without a problem.

so far I found 2 (major) fixes and 2 potential fixes on the new PC SUite:
- no more locking of the SIS files after install
- it found my previous backup files, even after i un-installed the older version
- so far it fixed my Contacts duplication issues
- so far it does not blur my contacts pictures anymore
so there is improvement. hope all that comes out next to be like this. now maybe in a year from now, we will have ALL the bugs fixed ?! why can't they just fix all the issues once and for all?!?!?!?!

Makbil, did you uninstall the old PC Suite before installing the new version? I didn't at first and had problems. They were solved by an uninstall.

Jejoma, yes I did uninstall the old version first. I am glad to hear that there are actually some improvements as stated by others. Also, I will refrain for the time being on complaining about bluetooth related problems as it is closely related to the particular bluetooth stack that is installed. BTW, can anyone recommend a BT dongle for Windows XP that they have tested to work with PCSuite (specifically Mobile Connection Wizard)? I suspect my current BT dongle may be the cause of some of my BT connection issues.
Has anyone got the "File Manager" to work as it should? It hasn't worked for me since day 1. I can only see under P990 the internal disk and the memory stick but nothing under each of them, which means I have no access to anything in internal memory.
I will test contacts sync with Outlook 2007 today and post my experience.

Hi. i just got my phone back from SE, it was the 3rd time i shipeed to them to fix my problems. the mains problem was the audio just isnt loud enough.
thats the audio from the hand set, and even head set when its plugged in.
Originally i never had this problem but i thin kthat on one of my updates it started having this problem.
Anyways, SE sent it back with the latest firmware installed, but i still need the volume up 100% and i have to force it into my ear to hear people...

I had this problem to some time ago. What I did was to go in to the service menu and put the speaker test up to 100% and then jumped out and restarted my phone. After that it is really loud. Something of this was helping me out, and its really great now. Just try it out, nothing to loose
