I already told you in my previous reply that the generic firmware I linked to in that post provides what you want

To silence shutter sounds via. just in silent mode, I think you must have generic firmware belonging to countries where it is legal - mainly Asian countries ie. HK, APAC.

Not too sure about the new K850i platform, but this was the case for the K800i.

Sainty or any one else who has debranded their K850 using the Davinci Team and then update to v37,

Does the phone now allow you to turn off the shutter noise when taking a picture?

Becuase currently, in the camera options i can only change my shutter sound to one of 4 sounds, there is no OFF option.

The shutter is starting to get really annoying now!!!

You only can have silent camera shutter while in silent mode of the handset.

My K850i (which has no been sent back for a replacement) used to make the camera noise even in silent mode...and yes Br@dley, my K850i used to distort its sound when megabase was on too. Very annoying. Also you pointed out that loudspeaker when in a call was awful. I felt the same way; all calls seemed to be very low quality...

Mine is Generic (Western Europe), the shutter is silent when the phone is in silent mode. It's not only in Asian countries anymore, I guess.

Can you confirm that when you take a photo with your Sony Ericsson K850i in silent mode, it makes no sound at all?

i changed to the AU/NZ one. sadly it still has the shutter sound, both in the camera options, theres no OFF option, and it doesnt turn off in silent mode!

also, i cant update to the new firmware as its not available for my region i guess, maybe ill change to a UK or Asian one as you can turn shutter sounds off on both and both have the new firmware available afaik!

The only thing im concerned about is my internet/wap not working properly sometimes if i use a diff region.......

The asian firmware doesn't have an option to switch off the shutter sound.
