Sean72 - when I got my W800 a week after getting my K750, yeah i did not want to open it. really nice package. took me a month to open.
Tsepz_GP - yeah, that'd be really sweet if they bring out boxes like that. its still made of recycled plastic/paper, and they were still not doing well financially when these phones went on sale, so im sure they can still do that.
I think Apple started that trend - minimalist packaging

Not much of a difference. Li-Pol are easier to mold (and make thin for instance) and should be a tad more reliable in theory, but holds less charge compared to Li-Ion. You get some, you loose some. So it is basically not crystal clear that one is better than the other.
