Considering from a phone camera, I think I can live with that watch picture.
Not too bad for social use, but may not be that good to those picky eyes for fine detail.

The China specific version seems to have a polycarbonate/plastic frame like the original Xperia Z.

At least the white version looks really nice (IMO)

True... it really resembles the original Xperia Z! just a bit better
I really like the part where there is the Magnetic Connector...! really classy

But the Black Z2 is better

Daylight photo comparison

Z2 vs G Pro 2 vs M8 vs S5

Once again, Z2 disappoints. It's beyond me how even LG G Pro 2 can outperform the Z2 with a much bigger sensor

i was about to say "because z2 is at full 20MP" but then the g2 pro is also at its max.

still, z2 will definitely look better at 8MP like those photos posted here earlier. they should just use superior auto for night scenes.

i actually downloaded the photos and ran brightness enhancement. there are more details in the z2 after improving the brightness. the colors also look good. so i'm still having some hope for the z2 s5 is the worst. it's the noisiest. try downloading it and apply some brightening. it's completely useless.

@AbhiD999

i don't think it's hatred. maybe just a little disappointment. however, you shouldn't be disappointed with those photos. at least sony's dark photo there is still usable after some light enhancement. even better than what you would consider as the best among those posted. s5 and m8 are very noisy. if you value details in the dark, the z2 delivers.

i only used miscrosoft's picture manager to enhance the brightness of the photos here.
no recoloring. only brightness and contrast adjustments. didn't add more contrast to the s5's photo as the noise gets amplified.

i think sony should consider an algorithm that takes photos with a low ISO and applies brightness, contrast, and midtone adjustments later on to create a bright and better-looking photo. high ISO shots always become noisy but those shot with the lower ISO have the details albeit veiled by the darkness.

z2

s5

it seems to me, Sony still can't sort out the the focus problem on top of that, their jpeg compression is still way too high, 20MP shots should be bigger than 7mb which is what Z1 and 2 is sitting around. If I remember correctly, ZOMG said 80% compression; thats way too high, you loose tons of detail from the compression.

I didn't know if I had to post this here or in the rumors section... or in a seprate thread... But I though you could be interested...
Some shots of the Sony Magnetic Charging Speaker BSC10
http://www.xperiaguide.com/20[....]ing-pad-bsc10-hands-on-photos/

It has a spekaer on the front and two on the sides

It has a blue led for notification and incoming calls
and obviously a magnetic dock for charging... there's NFC to pair the devices and Bluetooth

on his back there's an AC input for electricity and also a 3,5 jack IN for external audio!

In the pics it seems to be working with Xperia Z2, Tablet Z2 and Xperia Z1... on the Sony sites it says it works with every Xperia Device with a magnetic connector!
