Sony is finally getting competitive again.
That camera island is humongous.
The IR blaster looks different, looks like the color spectrum sensor.
The thinner bezels is a great welcome. I just wonder how will this affect the front-camera quality.
IMO, front-cameras have been a let down in most phones nowadays in order to give way for thinner bezels. Hope Sony adds some magic know-how in the front camera.

Translates that Sony announce their flagship late its because they are waiting for snapdragon 8 Gen 1 manufactured by TSMC

That was just a rumor. I think allocation of chips goes way before chip enters the production and it works like bidding. Those who want to be the first ones with the chip inside will have to pay more and the reason why Sony does late allocation is to end up with no mark up on the chip. That is just me guessing the game they play. Also back then not even Qualcomm knew they would switch to TSMC for non plus model. Maybe it was just a backup plan at that point so no manufacturers knew that TSMC would also get a slice of the pie of vanilla 8G1

Spek said Waipio. And waipio is not same 8g1 inside S22, mi12, OP10 Pro.
If I am not wrong , often qualcomm has different version of same chip even if clock is same.
Z3 and z2 are not same 801 looks like.

Has the naming cycle come for circle for the next Xperia range?
Rumour has it that the Xperia IV name is no more.

Curiosity: Sony Starvis 2 sensor (1/1.8") used for night vision has Dynamic range of 22. 😵. Full frame is about 15.
I do not think event is this month. Nothing so far. 😰

I wish Sony would address two issues:
1) Call recording (Google will kill all 3rd party apps starting May 11th).
2) Make the flashlight much stronger.

When is Xperia IV due?
With bezels like that and no-one else doing a decent non-holepunch screen (Xiaomi Mix 4 aside) I think it's time to come home to Sony.
