Oh no, so SE will intentionally cripple video recording in Sofia to sell another model. Come on SE how many different series do you want to have? Can't we just do with the cyber-shot for all imaging related goodness and the Walkman series for the music buffs.
If it substantially brings down the price then I'm fine with it but if its just a marketing strategy to make more money

video orientated phone? @bav?
you do know the handycam phone idea is DEAD ages ago.
care to explain a little on this video phone?
Its only natural to save such a spec for a high end UIQ model or even high end non uiq model.

Erm.... Then why would they do it, if you'd please tell me. I mean, you just wrote "or even a high end non uiq model". Which sofia will be. So, why?

bav >>> a spec to be thought about or a spec to be released this year ... and why would crippling a tech in a phone not make users find out how to enable it. if its there and its just not being used, im more than sure some resourceful ppl will be able to enable it, or a firmware upgrade if the demand is there. IF the phones can do it then it would be possible to enable it ... esp if the software on the phone can handle it. im paying for storage it should be of no consiquence.

Guys,guys,guys...Why are we talking about resolution only?I think that the most important thing is the fps.Just think how good would be the video recording in our K800's only if we had 30 fps!The larger the resolution, the larger will be the video in our pcs!I don't tell you that the resolution isn't important but the most important is a natural motion of video, not just some frames..That's my opinion! What's the use of QVGA or VGA resolution if the only thing we can view are just some frames..?

I find it frustrating to think that Sofia can handle VGA 30 fps video and SE might not offer it on the production model. Sofia will be highend as SE will get, not to mention handycam series is dead and current cybershot cameras offer VGA 30 fps. At least the camera will not be dissapointing...

Let's hope that the video recording quality will be @30 fps..I don't care too much about resolution..
