When I saw KG902 for the first time I told myself "Don't buy it. Soon SE will release same 5mp- camera equipped phone with faster image processing and familiar interface, and you will regret".
Eventually SE flagship came on market at the end of 2007 and it didn't meet my expectations.
Thats why i'm disappointed.
And as we can see no other notable Cybershot announced for 2008.
Resume: SE gave up on cameraphone competition and diversifying marketing on WM-UIQ support and damp proof 3mp phones. So I'm rather pessimistic about further significant FW camera improvments on k850.
@Vax - SE didn't leave the cameraphone competition, their just now focusing on where they were weak for market expansion = smartphones. Later this year we'll see a more focused camera phone; remember the K850i has only been on the market since September 2007. SE usually waits around 11-12mths before announcing a replacement product in an existing category for flagship replacements.
@Tervel & others with firmware headaches. Stupid questions for me to ask, but did you upgrade the firmware with the M2/MicroSD card installed still? Also does it have some kind of SDA data xml file on it?

Hi all, I just flashed my k850i, from vodafone NZ standard firmware 38, to K850i R1EA031 CID52 K850 1206-0882 CUSTOMIZED ID/ VELVET BLUE APAC-ANZ from Davinci. Initially the phone locked up showing a please wait message, it did have the m2 card in it. I read elsewhere (for the k750i) with the same problem, that you should remove the SIM, the mem card and then put it on the charger for an hour then try again, sounded a bit weird, but it worked.
Up and running now and the bloody annoying Vodafone live soft key is gone which was the whole reason to flash up.
So far so good, and the menus are much better.

Do you have 1E0W string under customisation info after Davinci flash?
Would you post your customisation info please? Thanks. Just curious.

Prom1> not sure there was any sort of xml on the microSD card I had in the phone whenever I have flashed... The past two times it's been with DaVinci due to the Blue Ring Of Death as I mentioned. Again like clockwork DaVinci came through where SEUS failed to recover the phone... This time I flashed with 037 because I just don't have confidence in 031. Not sure I have much confidence in SE any more

Hi, uhm, I've actually read trough this whole thread (I started reading when the thread was about 30 pages) and I've been watching the bugs that people gets and comparing those with my own K850i. I've actually been quite lucky with mine, I haven't had too many bugs, and those I had didn't really bother me.
Except for one, which I don't think I've heard other mention here before. I had the K800 before, and I had a lot of pics organized in folders on my M2. When I moved the card over to the K850, the folders where of course still there, but the ability to slideshow the pics in the folder where gone. Instead I would have to go to Media, and then create Photo Tags and try to re-organize them there.
But for some reason, whenever I try to tag them, most of the time I will get an error message "Cannot tag this file type." I can't really understand why it wouldn't be able to do so, since they're mostly JPGs as every other pic on the phone. Of course, I could use the folders, but the slideshow is really a great function for grandma's who wants to see pictures of their infant grandson but can't really work the function keys
This might be a small problem (especially for those of you who gets random reboots) but it's the one that bugs me the most.
