so it's been awhile now since i've updated to kitkat and i did a clean install. but as i add more apps and use it day to day like i have before, my Z1 seems to be slower and slower. responsiveness is not as snappy when going to the app picker and back. going home from at app causes a slight lag and often times, even unlocking my phone will cause a delay where the wallpaper needs a moment to display.

is anybody else having these issues? I am considering doing another fresh install but I just hate the thought of having to reconfigure and re-add everything.

this is disappointing. I hope there's an update coming that will fix this. I wish I had stayed on 4.3.. these additional features that came with kitkat are simply not worth it.

@moogoo I have to agree with you, in facing the same issues and this is after a clean install, plus when using the BT with my car, after turning the BT off it will keep my phone awake and drain the battery really fast. I wished I had stayed on 4.3 now because I really don't think that KitKat at the moment is worth the problems.

Experiencing the exact same thing, also battery life is not what it used to be. Before i was kinda proud to show people how fast the phone was etc. not any more

Oh yes, battery life is shameful for me now, yesterday I was down to 60% battery with only 50 minutes of screen time Before kitkat with the same use as now I would most nights be going to bed with about 70% battery remaining and over 2 hours of screen time

Call me a cynic here but I think that Sony have crippled this firmware to make the Z2 look a lot better than the Z1
I just hope that there is a bug fix coming out soon.

My battery is ok, although not as great as on 4.3.

I connected a Smart Band yesterday morning and was playing with the phone all day, with the wifi, NFC and Bluetooth on all day, and with the brightness on max, yet I still had 20% when I got up this morning

Battery life is horrible. Lagg is apparent during certain situation where it was not on 4.3. This may force to me flash back very soon.

Anyone remember what was the previous firmware version on the unbranded UK version?

good to know i'm not the only one experiencing these issues. i am frequently having only about 20% or less battery after a day, which is absurd. I used to easily go 2 days before charging with the same amount of use. What is going on? Kitkat is supposed to bring more efficient use of resources and better battery life, not make it worse.

it's frustrating.. especially the lags!

@MNX - if you find out what it is and how to do it, let me know. I may be going that route as well. as much as I enjoy the look and feel of the UI in kitkat, the performance is just unacceptable.

New firmware certified today for the Z1 (14.3.A.0.769) fingers crossed it's a more stable version of Kitkat.

Hope so I've not experienced any of the issues mentioned here recently but at least a few times a day the Chrome browser will force close at random even the update to Chrome didn't fix the issue and its only happened since Kitkat and every other browser I've tried works fine.
