I got mine (swedish version) with a 4gb card.. but now i belive I need a bigger one! I have just confirmed that the program WinMobile Torrent works. And then coreplayer plays avi, divX, mpeg, mp4 and a lot more.. This is a dream! Do not wake me up! Hehe..

By the way.. one strange thing with skype.. I hear the one I'm calling in the external speaker.. not the ear-one. So it's kind of speakerphone... but with no button to change to private. Anyone who can confirm this or is it just my phone?

Same for me. And it seems the microphone isn't working either, when using Skype.

The reference to the Black X1 at http://www.clove.co.uk mentions a 'case' in the package. Has anyone seen this case?

I didn't got a case with the phone...
But I use my old P1i-case.. works fine. They can be bought for around 6€.

Wow, Vodafone have a vast array of offers for X1 compared to 02. Now I'm interested because I need the shortest contract possible, and they offer a range of 12-month ones too. Does anyone know if you can unlock phones after a contract with vodafone? Also, does anyone know what software Vodafone would put onto the X1?

The is a user forum in the help section of the VF website. There is a sticky there that says all new VF phones are shipped UNLOCKED. They will still have VF firmware but should be useable with ANY sim.

I must admit I don't like using my TyTn II as a phone but its a great connected PDA. Will see if SE have made the X1 more of a phone.

This is how I've always viewed WM and tbh it wins hands down against anything else as a connected pda, especially with the great app support that WM offers.

As a phone OS, s60 is better, and I don't even like s60 UI at all! I'll be interest to see how X1 performs as a phone, but if I get one it will be to replace my current pda (a samsung i780). My main cell will be still be my W910, and the C905 when I can afford it.

@Max Which s60 phone are you using? I use both s60 and WM (and only this 2) since the 'begining of times' and I definitely prefer s60. Single hand usage and a 'not to worry', virus free platform, are 2 advantages not to be underestimated. If you are a 'normal' user only WM is just fine, but if you have 50+ applications installed (power user) and the device decides to play tricks on you, Microsoft shows its color. Nothing to do with x1. I still believe, a hiend, wimaxed, touch s60 is the answer for all of us - and it will come sooner then some would like

It has been a while since I have posted on here and it seems like it took the X1 for me to put some interest in SE once again.

I've been using the N95-4 and have not looked back since.

I'll be awaiting Dogman's review as I did with the N95 review which was a deciding factor in purchasing said phone.

Thanks Mr. Marc for your great reviews, looking forward to the X1.

let's get over this WM crashing mythology shall we? I am a power user of any phone, computer, motor vehicle, tech gadget that I own and I can assure you WM doesn't have any issue whatsoever running many applications at once.

Virus for WM? You gotta be joking right? Like s60, only one or two viruses have ever been made to infect either platform. btw, the only in-the-wild mobile phone virus getting around affects s60 only - NOT WM (or UIQ for that matter) - the caribe virus. I've often been bluetoothed infected sis files from unknown s60 phones in a crowd. My SE or WM phones remained completely immune on all occasions.

btw, I have already stated in other threads, and I'm the first to admit it, that WM is not as good as s60 (or even A200 for that matter) as a phone OS, but that is quickly changing. Every year WM get's better and better in the phone OS department. A WM phone with non-qwerty keyboard and 5 way controller is quite usable one handed when it comes to making calls etc. When it comes to flexible application interfacing, who wants to do everything one handed when it's so much easier and quicker to hold the phone in one hand and tap at the screen with the other? Honestly this "one handed" thing is fine for phone and messaging, otherwise it's an oversold feature. You don't impress me with your thumb RSI

But as far as PDA use and OS customisation goes WM wins hands down. Handwriting Recognition anyone? Registry editing? File System access? You can't even edit office docs on s60 devices without paying extra for Quick Office Premium - on WM office editing is part of the package. Not to mention application support - WM freeware availability far exceeds s60 - meaning your 50 apps don't have to cost anything more than a google search. You are far far from convincing me of s60 being the answer for all.

We all have different needs, wants and usage patterns. What might be perfect for you can be a nightmare for me. If s60 adopted some of the UI philosophy of A200 I might like it more, otherwise it irritates the shit out of me and I just won't use either s60 OR WM as a phone. It's A200 for phones, WM for PDA's for me.

Waiting for the delivery guy. Tracking number shows in my local hud..will arrive between now and 12.30pm.

When it arrives I will be a newbie to WM, p1 being my last phone. However I have used the HWR on the omnia and found the transcriber lacking compared to the P1. As I use HRW much more than typing can anyone recomend an app that is more like the p1 HWR, Thanks.

For any other WM Newbies out there this site has a list of some app which maybe of use. Hopefully more will posted here as we go.....that said would people prefer that sort of thing on a seperate thread?
