What about the reading error, changing tracks in the Walkman?
(also had some problems with missing the first little bit of each song)
Has it been fixed???

Thanks for that but how do I know which I have? All I know is my hansdset came from SE online. I'm in the US so I would assume North America would be America 1?
I've never updated but wouldn't mind a newer firmware if it keeps my handset functioning at the top of the pack. Love this phone way too much to even want to consider upgrading for at least another year or two.

As what DV said. The megabass things is true. And i cannot find anything new, since is the same version of firmware i dont thing anything is new accept the megabass.

I second that. Battery life has improved much.
Specially while using java apps and games.
I played games and used java gprs apps on my phone for about 2 hrs today. Other than that i used bluetooth for file transfer for up to 30 mins and upto 5 calls and 30 mins of music. Still battery is at 75% at the end of the day.
Mega bass is not dead and it shows its effect at lower volumes as DV said.
My phone is charging normally in phone mode too.
The only drawback i see in the new firmware is that the music volume has come down some what. (Maybe its because my ear blew out after listening to music at full volume for long
)
It certainly looks bad for people like us but its for the better in the long run as we guys will have proper working years for listening to the better walkman phones comming up in future.

I got my phone in North America also but it came with firmware from Hong Kong. All of the different firmwares have english as one of the options as well as the other languages. You can usually see what version you have in the same screen as the firmware. (press "> * my phone says:
R4DB005

I ran SEUS because my phone kept bugging me to "check for updates" and I didn't have a data plan at the time. When I ran SEUS (to be read, finally got it to work) it actually installed an OLDER firmware onto my phone (what a piece of SH*T). So I used DaVinci to return the newer firmware and at the same time changed the region/language to match where I live. (and then uninstalled everything made or distributed by Sony)

As expected (based on my phone's eBay seller), my language/region is APAC.
How can I change to America-1? I'm overdue for a firmware update, anyway.

After the last firmware update my phone has been having a new issue.
Phone rarely connects to GPRS service and even if it connects it gets disconnected very soon.
Service provider checked everything at their end and says its a handset issue.
Reset all also dosent work. Any suggestions?
Mean time i am planning to try updating firmware once more
Any one else having same issue?

honestly I have not updated yet to the new FW since the last time I used SEUS it made my phone unusable gave me White flashing screen good thing wotanserver.com was there to help since I do not have cruiser cables. Anyhow I will just wait for wotan to have the new FW before I update
