It might be a relativity thing... The P900 might have been slow for its time. Just try running old DOS games on a Windows XP computer and you'll notice that some of them will be running too fast since they are made for slower computers...

Sorry but I have to say its a speed thing my P900 and P910 were much much faster than my P990 when performing simple everyday PIM tasks.

The simple fact is the P990 is not anywhere near as fast at the previous P series phones I can check any test anyone likes to set I have all three versions at home and belive me I have checked!

Just got my un-branded/locked P990 with firmware

Phone: CXC162037 R4B001
CDA: 162007/2 R2A01

It's generally fine almost as fast as a P910. Takes almost 45 secs to start up from the logo. But hasn't locked up yet. Only hiccup is when takng consecutive photos and you close the camera app via the back button then turn close the back cover and re-start the camera will it re-start to improve performance. Other wise no problems.

Question is if there would be any significant changes if I upgarde firmwares? Might as well not if there isn't ...

Was this even mentioned ? with the new FW,

When using the P990 FLIP OFF mode, and when you want to call numbers like in the US, like :

1-800- CALLME
1-817- WLASERS
1-212- JOHNSONS

When you press and hold space bar, the dial screen appears however the letters associated to each number on the numbers are not shown so we just have to guess the number by fluking

You might wanna re-read the last 37 pages for that....

you just showed how big those problems are by not remembering them...this new firmware is viewed has quite stable, and most problems reported are not reproducible for all users, because they are due to specific corrupt data in some phones, preserved by old backups. I didn't have a single reset since the 2 of january, and now with the new sm pro running i have around 12 free average all the time, and 17 at boot...these values i never got before, just like the bigger number of apps i can run now at same time, increased speed on opera and pdf+, at boot, etc. So yes, this firmware is quite good, although not perfect.

@ares
With many complaints i think its wise to wait for next firmware. It bother me when i have to update the firmware (i currently live on assigment at afar island which still have crappy 36kbps dial-up connection, yet it still unstable n disconnect ocasionally! Crap!) I'm afraid i cannot update any firmware! So i better wait for a updated one

I find it just a waste of bandwith to relist problems of 27 pages again and again! And time!
