ah im gutted.
I rang up orange to finally upgrade my old w850. I wanted the w890 silver, but they said if I wanted to upgrade to it, I'd have to pay £50, which I didn't want to do as this price is only on the handset cos its brand new (and its only for existing customers which i think is 1 cheeky, and 2 not very understandable from a loyalty point for orange customers- new customers can get the handset for free on the same tariffs!)
Anyway, I chose K850 as I wanted something with new media centre (use my phone heavily as mp3 player) interface (which is really good) and K850 has this plus 5mp cam- I had already tried W910 and didn't like the build and the buttons. But K850 camera is the biggest joke I have ever seen (pure black pictures), and even though I've already updated the firmware, it is doing all sorts of wierd and stupid things like saying I'm calling or texting other people in my phone book when I try and select a contact.
Rant aside, I think I'm going to send K850 back unless I can sort out the numerous problems with it in the next couple of days.(unlikely) Then gonna wait till Orange give me w890 for free. One question about the handset though- what are the buttons like for texting and navigation? And another, is the A200 system quite fast on this model (find it to be quite slow on the K850)?

Hey Ashby (and anyone else). I phoned Orange today and requested to be upgraded (I am in the last month of an 18mnth contract) to the W890. The nice chap wanted to fleece me for 150 notes, to which I requested to be put through to the Retentions dept, stating that I could get the phone for free on another network (O2 for eg).
A few mins later I was agreeing to accept a free W890 with a better tarriff for less per month than I pay now.
It pays to ask these things. I never thought it would work, but it did.
Hope this inspires you to go for the phone again.

my orange(Orange Dominicana) has never done this with us. you just accumulate points that can be used later to get a new phone from them.
