What do you mean with 'phone closed', do you mean locked or turned off...
if the first then it's not bug as I used to use the phone to wake me every day...
if the last then you maybe dreaming, no symbian phone can alarm while turned off, I'm missing this feature from my last SE's OSE phone (K750i) and earlier...

Im pretty sure he is talking about while the phone is off. Usually for most phones, even when you turn off the phone, the alarm would still work. This worked on my k800.

It happened to me once, the battery was perhaps 10% before turnin it off and God knows why the s60v5 continue to use battery even if the phone is off.So even the emergency battery energy it should keep to ring the alarm was depleted
Same story with N97 and 5800
But never with A2 phones

I turn the Satio off every evening and the phone does indeed 'wake up' the next morning to sound the alarm. It then asks if you'd like to continue booting up the phone fully after you've silenced the alarm.
I've had mine since the beginning of November and use alarms at least 5 days a week, although annoyingly it has failed to go off on 3 separate occasions since I got it. Twice this happened before the firmware update, and once after updating, but I can't figure out what's causing this very infrequent problem. Incidentally the charger has been inserted every time the alarm failed, so it's not to do with a low battery level in my case.
I've never had this problem with any previous Sony Ericsson phones before (K750, K800, C905) and unfortunately it does mean that I wouldn't put my complete trust in the Satio to wake me up for an important event!

@ mr versatile
Have checked my phone book and all contacts come up in alphabetical order via 1st name and all the numbers for that contact are shown together with an option to select the one i wish to use.
Does not mater if i scroll down or do a search always the same.

My old K850i can sound alarm when the phones switched off, I forgot to delete the alarm when i changed to satio and it went off everyday till i took the battery out.
Have never tried it on the satio but im sure it would work.
