Looks like we got some more info from SE...Email from SE Call Center explained you need to update Java first. It has to be at least 1.4.2 for the SE Update Service to work (many people out there probably have 1.4.1 or earlier.)

[ edit ] and this is helping cause the blank browser windows some people are getting.

I somehow was able to download to my PC the update setup exe "seus_setup118" and it extracted files to my PC. Is there any way to install this to my phone ? Or does anyone know how it works?

yes, i got that originally, you have to have the phone drivers installed first, and be up to date with java...then it should work.

I have downloaded the driver, but when i do the 'hold 'c' and then connect usb cable, the computer doesn't start a new hardware wizard.

The phone has to be off first. Is you phone off when you try it?

Yes, the phone is off when i try, when i plug in the cable and hold down c together, nothin happens, the phone just boots normally and the software update doesn't do anything

When that happens try going to device manager and updating the driver by pointing to where you downloaded and unzipped it,then start the process from the beginning

@gseth

That problem has been discussed in another thread. The solution is pretty simple. Sync with Outlook. Delete all contacts in the phone. Use advanced feature in sync software to copy all contacts back to the phone. Now all e-mail contacts show up as they should.

The video call option has also been reported before and will probably be removed in the next firmware release.

Just got the desktop stand for the K750 - damn it's cool! There's a green light around the contact on top of it that shines when the power supply is connected

One problem though... when I add the desktop charger to a profile it wont auto-switch to that profile when I put the phone in the stand

OK, I looked at this thread this morning and was excited by the news of the new firmware. Now, I've tried downloading the USB update service thing and can't do it!
I get as far as the install wizard opening, I click on "Have disk" - is this right? then I browse for the unzipped files from the download, but the browser won't let me see them. I saved them in a folder on the desktop but it doesn't show anythng

PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!

itstomhi, it can't see the directory or the files? When you browse to the right directory just click ok/next (not sure what the button text is). You don't select the file itself just the location of the file.

Sorry, I'm not too sure what you mean. (please give an example of the directory I might look for)
Can we start at the wizard screen which asks for the hardware type. Do I select "othre devices" Then, do I scroll down to sony ericsson mobile coms? Then what do I do? Click on "have disk"? or select 750 bluetooth or one of the others. I just don't seem to be getting the same options as are said in the instructions on SE website.

When I search for the driver, it only seems interested in looking for one called k750bus.inf. Maybe I should change the driver's name to this. lol!

Thanks for helping

Are you trying to install it directly?

You need to install the (original) k750 usb drivers for when you first hooked up the usb cable.

Then you need to download the updated flash driver and do an "update driver" in the windows > control panel > system > hardware manager.

Alternatively if you follow SE's instructions to update the driver (already having the original usb drivers installed) you turn your phone off and disconnect it fromthe usb cable, hold down the 'c' key and the connect the phone to the usb cable. The computer should say recoginzed new hardware to which you can then browser to where you unziped the new/updated flash driver *.sys is the file. You then broswe to the directory like I talked bout above.
