I would have thought you would know youself where you got the phone from and what it's customisation is!
However, looking at
http://www.topsony.com/lista_cda_k750i.html, it would appear that your phone has a Generic Russian CDA alongside an Asian Pacific region (it should be European)!
I would suggest that you will probably not be able to update through SEUS if the phone has been tampered with (e.g. through DaVinci). Why not just try it yourself and see what happens?

I find it difficult enough finding out what firmwares are added for the major UK retailers, let alone maintain a comprenensive list of CDA numbers. I don't have access to such information from SE - I just rely on other Esato members keeping me up to date on what firmware is applied through SEUS to branded phones.

If you're referring to the Walkman player hissing noise, then yes. Mine had that problem since R1NA005, and it's still present after updating to R1BC002.
I sent my phone to a service center because of this.
Got your phone back from service center? I also sent my w800 to service in Norway. I got the phone in return today (3 weeks waiting) with the message “Not able to reproduce error”. Aaargh! The mp3-phone is useless for me if I can’t use it for audiobooks!
I will try the latest firmware now. Crossing fingers.

Alright.. the new firmware for W800i. Perfect.
Pictures can zoom.. sound quality great... M4A readable.. No hissing... bluetooth ok... what else you all want to know?
Is this really true? No hissing at all with the new firmware? Can anyone confirm this?

I'm still confused:
From the front page: "- FIX: Background noise during lower volume calls ('hissing bug') now fixed. "
My problem is background noise when playing mp3. Has this hissing been reduced?

i think it has yeah. i think i saw a few posts back some people saying that it was fixed and good in music now. i have never experienced these problems, even in the last firmwares. so perhaps its not for me to say, but never the less you should upgrade the firmware...

Don´t think so, have you got any problems with that FW?
I have the same and it works perfekt with no hissingsound and no filetransfer problems,
I would like the volume to be slightly louder, but it seems like the hissings starts then
Keep it until everything have been sorted out!
If you change FW, let us know if you got the hissingsound!
Most of the people here change from later FW and maybe have get used to the hissingsound and maybe not notice.
