> New firmware for P990i out now!
Bookmark topic
I'm not sure if anyone has already noticed this, but a welcome feature included in the new firmware is the ability to new switch from 'Phone Mode' to 'File Transfer' (and vice-versa!) while the phone is in the USB cradle.

Still the most annoying thing on the P990i for me.... having to confirm a SMS over 1 message long and if you forget you lose the message! So annoying! SAVE TO DRAFT!!

I need the phone to answer the call when i open the flip and to end the call when i close the flip.
this option P990 must have from the begining !!!!!!
also ,,
i have SE K610 and p990 .... k610 have a much much louder ringtone volume than the p990.
5 things i thought i will find them in the new frameware and i didn't
1- turn off the transition effect option
2- louder ringtone volume
3- more battery life
4- more memory
5- the flip open call answer option!!
the new frameware is fine and stable and better than before but it need alot of work .. and i hope this will be done before SE announce a new replacement for the P990
we will wait and see ....

i borrowed my friend's laptop last night and tried the seus, still no update for the cda/8. i got so upset because the trackpad on her laptop is so sensitive, i acceidentally click update the phone. so seus went ahead and flashed my phone with the same firmware, erasing everything i had installed. good thing i did a backup of my contacts and my calendar and restored them from the memory stick. all other apps, i had to install from the memory stick. so not much of a hassle, except to configure eveything all over again. time, date, theme, ringtone, location, etc.
i hope se will come up with the firmware for cda/8 soon. i am getting pretty annoyed with this phone.

R9EA001
R5A01
R4A13
Am I right in thinking that the Org version is later than others? R4A09 vs R4A13?
All seems snappy and good... I like!

Does anyone know how SE determines when to release the firmware for the different CDA? Are they being developed centrally or individually by different countries?
I have been waiting for /8 as the current version is only R2A04! Really wonder if I will ever get an update ...

SE!!!
Would it be so hard for a development Manager to spend an afternoon reading through some of the comments on this (and other's) site???
You have essentially released a fantastic piece of hardware, but it is let down by Bug after bug after bug... (Don't get me started on what the SP's introduce!)
I think I am correct in guessing that the SW development is compartmentalised - as is the testing. SE - you need to put more time and effort into integration testing!!!
I find it so frustrating that I spend money on a product and then have to wait with baited breath for a few months, until the various FW versions are released to bring my phone up to the standard it should have been released at.
FW upgrades should be for the odd bug, enhancements and increasing functionality. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find a ‘brought to you in association with ‘RentoKill’ splash screen the next time I connect to the SEUC. THERE ARE TOO MANY BUGS!!!!
It really pisses me off that I pay to be a SE Beta tester. Please feel free to send me a phone before release and I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it – in my own time and for free. (So kind of like now, but with constructive feed back and before you piss off all of your customers!)
Not sure why I’ve got into a rant today – must be a bad day at work…
Any one got an answer on this feature???
