As for the restore, the third party apps never restore, only the advanced device lock restores BUT needs always new activation.

That is not entirely correct, some applications do get restored.

REALLY.... so what applications do you restore that are ACTIVATED and ready to use then?

Worldmate was one of them, HandySafe was another. Both installed on internal disk.

Confirmed - using the shutter button in still mode to autofocus, then switching to video mode, loses the autofocus. This happens both when holding down and rolling the jog dial to switch, or when releasing the shutter button and then rolling the jog dial.

Dualist, thanks for your confirmation.

And you state they are Activated??? Because that is a neat trick then, I have HandySafe and it will NOT be restored and not be activated ever with my phone.

The only thing restored BUT NOT Activated is Advanced Device lock which is in Control Panel a system ap.

Those two were fully functional and activated after I did 3rd party restore with the latest fw update. Honestly I don't remember if the case was the same with previous fw restores.
I have no clue why it was only those two that got restored properly but the majority of 3rd party sw was either not restored or not activated, so you are right there.
I should add that both are legal and registered sw.

Now we don't have autofocus in video mode.
I can't do the trick I did before: in photo mode do the focus, switch to movie, and the focus remain.
Now, once you've switced to movie mode the focus is lost and so the movies are blury.
It's a pitty.
Even W800 has autofocus in video mode, and a square in the middle of the screen to help you with focus.
N70 has a much better framerate than p990.
Speaking of video mode, p990 seems to be a joke, a bad one.

My Wayfinder 6 and Sky by Mobile are both restored and activated too but Tube 2 and SMP are not. Again, no idea why there should be a difference. This was also the case in previous firmware versions.

@all:

Firmware R6D17 seems to have fixed the alarm volume problem (it did for me anyway!), so no more excuse to be late for work.... Wink

Don't rejoice just yet, not until it is available via SEUS.

Another thing, the base code for Elena is the same as R6 firmware I am testing now, so when they announce Elena and just so happens to mention which Symbian/UIQ version it will be using, you will know what you will be getting on your P990 (W950 and M600 too).

Yeah, thatīs right, the OS update is coming
