New to this board but if it helps, I have been watching this site for some time about the release of the W960 -

May be too good to be true but it has been fairly consistent with it's timings.

Since you got to play around with the W960i, can you let me know if the 3 soft keys can be pressed not by pressing right on them on screen, but by pressing slightly below (ie. where the 3 Walkman functions play/pause, prev and next are) ? This would mean that that part of the phone is permanently touch-sensitive (not only when Walkman is on) and that would avoid a lot of smudge on the screen.
I'd love to know about that (sorry if it doesn't look like such a big deal to most people !!)

They changed it from 18th of August a couple of days ago. My guess is that they just added two months without knowing.... The same with cdon.se who changed the date from 30th of August to 30th of September.

Yes of course, my guess is, it will be released in sweden a week or so before the UK. I would say late october for sweden and early november in the UK. As people already said it's critical for SE to get the W960 out on the market before the Iphone comes to europe. And they know this so we will probably see the W960 in stores a bit earlier than it should be, in other words expect some bugs the first months.
the timing of the release has to be perfect in order to beat the Iphone.
The w960 is designed for a european market, the Iphone is not! So if there's a option for the buyer when he/she stands in the shop trying to choose they may not just buy the Iphone, becuase it's an Iphone but instead start to compare the two phones, and sees the lack of tech in the Iphone.
