I was thinking of buying one too but the web browser is putting me off.
Is it easy and quick to use?
Can you do complete fullscreen in vertical mode with no soft keys at the bottom?
and what are the keypad shortcuts for back, forward, refresh is 'zero', next tab?
what about the keypad shortcuts on mp3 player. Is zero still play/pause and * and # previous and next?
thanks.

There is a new firmware for P990. Can someone check if this is the case for P1i too?

I did right after upgrading P990i, but there was no new firmware for P1i. I was told my P1i already has the latest firmware.
But itīs in the list where you choose phone to upgrade.

@dainesefreak: How have you been getting on with your shiny new P1i? What does it feel like after using a K800 (like me). I'm still happy with my K800 but am quite curious if there have been any further improvements to eg. speed and the screen. Obviously it's a smartphone, so that will probably need some getting used to. I used to love my P800 and the way I could customise it.
One further question to all new P1i users: what are the profiles like, the P800 didn't have any and I used to use Magic Profiles which was a great little app which allowed you to automatically select diffent profiles depending on your location (it detected the GSM cells).... would an application like that still work or have some of those features been built in as standard?

basoost - I've got to say I'm quite impressed with it, other than the length of time it takes me to write a text at the moment, which is getting quicker by the minute. I've had no crashes so far even when scanning and using the WiFi. I connected to my 8mb DSL line and browsed around, messed with the the TrackID which worked well too. Everything seems quite quick too, especially when compared to my mates N95 but I suppose that could be down to the weight of the apps.
The radio is new compared to the 800i and makes more use of the RDS functionality, offering scrolling text from the station and selectable features. Somethings are well tucked away in menus and require a bit of digging around to find but then you do get the option of shortcutting them to the standby screen. Call quality doesn't seem to be any different one way or another, although I've noticed the signal reporting lower than the 800 did in the same areas. There are about three themes included as well as the O2 default theme but there aren't any profiles.
Overall I'm quite happy with the change, after three K series phones it's a nice change. I also use various Vodafone Business Email and Blackberry devices for work (HP, Nokia,HTC Qteks/Windows Mobile and Symbian) and the Sony Ericsson is the one I'm happy to call my own.

@dainesefreak: are you saying that after all that time there still isn't an option to choose eg. office, meeting, normal, etc. profiles with matching ringtone etc. settings? The lack of profiles used to be the main drawback for me with the old P800, until Magic Profiles was released (Symbianwave software). This won't put me off the P1i, but I would find it very strange if this were the case.

basoost - I've been through the handset a good few times now and I can't find any profiles. First time I pressed the power button I expected to see the familiar K800i options but they just aren't there. You get power mode with power off and flight mode options.
The camera picture quality isn't quite up to the same standards either but I expect this will improve with future firmware releases, can't imagine it being quite as good though. But then this is a P series not a K series phone, I'd have waited for the K850i if I was desperate for a decent camera. Although I do get another opportunity to get hold of a K850i or W960 when my wife upgrades in a couple of months or so.
