Guys, I bought the Sony Xperia Z3 compact to my girlfriend for Christmas. I also bought the MDR-NC31EM earphones and these 60 dollar-earphones surprised me a lot.
My missus wanted me to setup everything for her, so she can start using the phone right away. I have of course played a little bit with this phone and earphones. I absolutely love that combo. The sound is really loud with rather deep bass. Yes, I am an EDM-junkie.
Only trolls like some people in here with name similar to Esato would say something else.

My conclusion is that, if you buy Z3,you better off with those earphones. Great sound and respectively good noise cancellation. Too bad that I already have Bose QC20i, otherwise I would buy a pair of MDR-NC31EM to myself.

Something I noticed when fiddling with the audio setting is how a lot worse or more flat the sound is with ClearAudio+ enabled.

Sometimes I think it's better just to use no sound enhancement apart from the equaliser although I prefer a more natural set up.

Seems there is a bug with the latest FW update. The two Z3c's I have access to were using the double tap facility to wake the screen. Seems that if the phone is stationary (for a few minutes at least) and you've double tapped, it fails to awake. However, give it a jolt to trigger the motion sensor and then double tap, it will work.

Yes, I have noticed that. I have to double-tap the phone twice to wake it up. However it seems I have a bigger problem. . .

Digging around and it appears others have the problem too. Seems Sony broke this so may I suggest that if anyone else has noticed it, to report it via their support channels.

Yeah I find ClearAudio+ flattens the sounds plus is also quieter. I have my own custom EQ settings with Megabass up quite high. I also find using the studio setting on the Surround Sound (VPT) gives great depth compared to without it.

Here (NL) you can buy this MDR-NC31EM headphones for less than 40$
Thought to buy one but I am used to wireless headphones.
The one I got with mine Z3C (MDR-ZX750BN) doing a great job.
