Anyway 60mm on previous 5 was useless honestly. But 5IV especially in ecru is super gorgeous design while this one looks super generic. Why no ribbed frame? Camera island in back plate color is what 1V should have had.
It has frame like 1v.

There is one fun fact when it comes to 5. Everybody loves it but no one buys it. I myself have always admired 5 but never ever had one. I tried Photo Pro and Cinema Pro on it and size of the screen is just too small for such intensive UI apps. Even on my PRO-I sometimes I struggle with Photo Pro when it comes to actual framing.
Anyway they are obviously repositioning it and thats been evident since 5IV which was targeted completely to women in all of their promotional videos

sony should make pro-i 2 now as way to compensate ppl for the bizarre 5v. Zenfone by Sony. 🤮

They switched the sensor for ultrawide? I highly doub it but it's Sony, logic doesn't apply there too much.

I do not know why but some ppl call 1/2.2" those sensors that most say 1/2", like 586/582/589.
Find X2 Pro had a 12MP 1/2.3". Newer than 563.
Nothing impossible.
Anyway, damage is done. Should cancel it to avoid money loss. No way it is going to be any popular like 5ii.

It depends. If they drop the price by $100 then that alone could save 5 series. Btw 5III on US website is $600 which is a steal from brand new 5III the last of its kind when it comes to 1 internals in compact housing.
Looking at US Xperia prices now I completely see why they did what they did with the pricing of 1IV. They wanted to support PRO-I sales and they coulnd't make that big of a gap between 1IV and PRO-I so they just bumped the storage space of 1IV and made PRO-I seem like a good deal. Now that 1V is here they are focusing on it equaling the price of 1V with discounted price of 1IV. Basically they made 1IV as some stop gap device and they probably didn't even count it will sell. They are still pushing PRO-I in sales, right now it's $999 compared to $1399 for 1IV LOL Original PRO is still riding strong at $1,999 and its probably selling just enough not to justify the end of production. PRO-I will most likely end its run before original PRO does.
