Pardon me for being ignorant, but where on the Widcomm site does one download the Bluetooth software from?

All I could find on it was information about their technology solutions.

Hi,

My MSI bluetooth dongle (MS-6967) and SE T610 could not work despite upgrading the software downloaded from the MSI site. The problem was that the devices could not be paired and the services on the mobile could not found, no matter which version of the MSI drivers I installed.

After many sleepless nights, what did the trick was to upgrade the firmware of the dongle itself. Thanks to artctic oc for providing the link in http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=43929#post587060

The firmware can be found here...
(firmware ver.525 for the cambridge silicon radio chipset):

To upgrade the firmware, make sure you install version 1.3.1 and above of the MSI software and run the device firmware upgrade option in the start menu. Note that the older MSI software that came in the CD does not have the firmware upgrade option so you must upgrade to the later version from the MSI site first. Btw, tried getting the security key for the 1.4.2.10 version but it did not work. I ended up using the 1.3.1 version which works fine.

Hello,

I encountered serious problems after MSI bluetooth software installation. After installation of the software for bluetooth dongle the TCPIP subsystem on my Windows XP pro SP1 machine stops working, tcpip stack reset did not help. Only MSI software uninstallation and system restore corrected the problem with network, but i cannot use the dongle without their software of course. Has anyone the same problems? Would MS native bluetooth support solve the problem? Would the Widdcom software solve the problem?

thanks for your help

I'm having the same problem but then on Windows 2000 SP3 (or SP4). Anyone have a solution to this?

How do I reinstall just the network drivers? I tried removing the TCP/IP protocol and putting it back, but that didn't help either. I also tried reinstalling SP3 but that didn't help either.

I tried both the 1.3.1 and 1.4.2 drivers. Allthough I could only try the 1.4.2 drivers AFTER I installed the 1.3.1 version since I needed the tag to get a key.

The weird thing is that I had this working before. Even after upgrading to SP4. I had a harddisk failure and I need to reinstall everything and now I install the Bluetooth dongle and my TCP/IP connection goes to hell. I just found out I can't print over TCP/IP either.

Maybe the drivers can only be installed initialy on an SP1 version or something?

I'd be happy if I got my network working again though. I need to use another computer for connection to the internet now.

I tried both version 1.3.1 and 1.4.x and the first one seems like much better. I think that version 1.4.x is for windows server or something like that. You can actually uninstall those drivers and install version 1.3.1. I did that two times on my comp with xp pro and service pack 1. This message was posted from a T68i

I tried both 1.3.x and 1.4.10 BT drivers but with both i have the same problems with TCPIP. Only uninstallation of the drivers and system restore helped . I solved the problem later by running the WinsockXPFix.exe app after BT drivers 1.4.10 installation.

In win2k the TCP/IP protocol can be unistalled and then installed again after restart. It should be uninstalled first on all network connections or adapters. May be this will help you to solve the problem on Win2k. This is not possible with Windows XP, the TCP/IP cannot be uninstalled here.
